2015 Toyota Camry

On Friday, December 5, 2025, I was coming out of the driveway at the Jack In The Box on the corner of El Camino & Nobili Avenue in Santa Clara. My foot was on the break as I was going to stop at the end of the driveway to check to see if there was any traffic coming down Nobili before I exited the Jack In The Box driveway. All of a sudden before I even hit the end of the driveway while I had my foot on the brake, the car started to speed up (unintentional acceleration)and I continued to press my foot down harder on the brake, but nothing could stop it. A lot of black smoke came up out of the steering wheel area where it attached to the dashboard & all of the air bags around the car deployed. Then my car completely turned itself around and the front of my car was now facing the driveway that I had just come out of. This torque of acceleration and braking is why my car spun around 180 degrees. The vehicle had sustained damage to the front end, the hood, front bumper cover, right front head lamp was cracked, and the Toyota emblem was missing. (See attached photos taken at the time of the accident) Since all of the air bags in the whole car had completely deployed, I found that the only way I could get out of the car was to slide myself under the air bag that surrounded the driver side door. As I got out of the car, the rib that is directly under my right breast began to hurt very badly and it was hard for me to take a breath with the pain from that rib. I also had a bad headache, too. Plus, the top of my left hand was all red and felt like something had scratched the whole back of my hand. It hurt to touch it. I was also light-headed.The car, I was told, looked like I had hit a wall. The whole left front side of the car was severely mangled - the hood, the fender, and the tire was flat. The shocking thing was that I had not had an encounter with any car, nor had they hit me, to account for this damage.The Police & Fire Dept.& EMT's were called.

I had no problems with my 2015 Toyota Camry SE that does not even have 90,000 miles on it, and then I started experiencing a shutter when driving between 25 and 50mph. It feels like you are driving over rumble sticks in the roadway, or an abnormal shaking. There is no warning light illuminated on my dashboard ex: engine light. If I take my foot of the accelerator pedal the shutter/shaking would stop or if I pushed on the accelerator to go faster, it will come out of the shutter/shaking also. While I was getting an oil change at the Toyota dealership, I spoke with the Toyota customer service representative about the closed recall (T-SB-0312-17) for this issue on 2012-2014 Toyota Camry's while doing research on this issue and I was told that Toyota has no plans on doing another recall because they have fixed the problem and I would have to have the car fixed myself which could cost upwards of $3,000.00 out of pocket. Why should a customer have to pay hundreds of dollars to have their car diagnosed for a known problem based on internet forums and other Toyota complaints. The engine light is not on, so a code may not even show up. I cannot afford to pay that, and Toyota should stand by their vehicles, stop giving customers the run around and do another recall as this is a big safety issue of faulty parts which can cause a major accident if the car loses power and stalls.

MY ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WENT OUT IN THREE YEARS ...NOT ABLE TO PROGRAM ANYTHING OR LISTEN TO RADIO. I UNDERSTAND THAT TOYOTA HAD A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM WITH MODELS FROM 2014 AND 2015.... WHICH MY CAR FALLS IN THERE. THEY ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THIS PROBLEM AND SAID THEY DONT HAVE A RECALL. HOWEVER TOYOTA DID SEND OUT NOTIFICATION TO MECHANICS TELLING THEM THERE WAS ISSUES WITH THESE ECUS . STANIONARY

GOOD MORNING, I AM EMAILING TO ASK ABOUT A PROBLEM I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH MY 2015 CAMRY HYBRID SE. FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, I HAVE BEEN HEARING THIS FRUSTRATING CLUNKING NOISE EVERY TIME I GO OVER A SLIGHT BUMP OR EVEN JUST WHEN MAKING A TURN. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE IT IS COMING FROM THE ROOF AND AT THIS POINT IS UNBEARABLE. MY CAR STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM A LITTLE AFTER 100K MILES. AFTER TALKING WITH MY FRIEND WHO ALSO IS AN AVID TOYOTA CAMRY BUYER, HE EXPLAINED EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH BOTH HIS 2015 CAMRY, AND MOST RECENTLY WITH HIS 2018 CAMRY. HE SAID HE WAS ABLE TO GET BOTH VEHICLE'S ROOF ISSUE FIXED AT NO COST AND THAT THE CLUNKING NOISE WAS ELIMINATED. IS THIS A RECALL ISSUE ? I HAVE READ MULTIPLE BLOGS WITH CAMRY DRIVERS DESCRIBING THE SAME ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED AND FIXED. IT HAS GOT TO BE A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. I AM ALSO AWARE THAT MY VEHICLE IS OVER WARRANTY. INITIALLY, I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A MINOR FIX BUT WAS SHOCKED WHEN MY DEALER TOLD ME THE ESTIMATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS ALMOST $3,000. HOW IS THAT EVEN FAIR? I WOULD LIKE TO DO WHAT MY FRIEND DID AND GET THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED AT NO COST SINCE THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT I CAUSED. WHEN RETURNING TO MY DEALER AND EXPLAINING THAT MY FRIEND GOT THIS SAME ISSUE FIXED AT $0 COST, THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT FIX MY CAR. DRIVING THE VEHICLE HAS BECOME UNBEARABLE AS THE 'CLUNKING NOISE' OCCURS CONSTANTLY. I HOPE TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED. I JUST CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY 3,000 TO GET THIS FIXED AND FEEL IT IS UNJUST TO EXPECT ANY 2015 MODEL OWNER TO DO SO. ESPECIALLY, GIVEN THE CURRENT TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC NONETHELESS..
