2015 Toyota Camry

I am writing to report a serious incident involving my 2015 Toyota Camry LE (VIN: [XXX] ), which I believe is connected to a potential defect or recall issue. On [XXX], I was involved in a car crash that resulted in my vehicle being totaled. The circumstances of the crash strongly suggest that it was caused or exacerbated by issue sudden loss of power steering assistance The details of the crash are as follows: Date/Time: [XXX] Location: [XXX] Fall River While driving at low speeds, I experienced a sudden loss of power steering, making it difficult to control the vehicle and avoid a collision. The sunroofs have a drain which sometimes can plug up. This car was maintained several times a year since purchase by Toyota dealer. When the drain plugged up this fall, water backed up and came down inside of the passenger compartment on top of the electrical fuses, body computer. The leak IS NOT DETECTABLE by owner or occupant. But when it manifests itself, it does so with the Blind Spot Monitor failing randomly, the seat belt warning lights might or might not work, the airbag safety system fails, sometimes the whole instrument dash acts erractic including random on/off blinking, the tire pressure monitoring system fails. All these problems can occur before owner is ever aware of the problem. Since one of the items that is getting corrosion is a fuse block - potential fire while parked in a garage or while being drive is a possibility. In an accident failure of air bags can result in a fatality. I'm an engineer, so when things started blinking on dash - I took pictures or had another occupant take pictures. I showed them to the dealer service - they didn't make the connection with corrosion on the body computer that monitors and manages all the systems including the anti-lock and rollover system. It's in for repair at dealer now, now idea on the cost - but they've said damage is extensive AND we caught it before most people encounter it. I checked and could find no Toyota Service Bulletin that warned to look for the problem, repair techs had vehicle for week trying to find problem - and it took me insisting on looking for corrosion before they found it. This should result in: 1)Toyota special service bulletin to inspect every year and verify sunroof drain not blocked. 2) read diagnostics codes of the body network computer for issues, 3)Toyota special service recall to repair damage free to customers.

I have the same issue described in a recall notice for my year make and model. My EPS light is coming on and I'm losing power to the vehicle. My VIN was not included in the recall. Steering: Electric power assist system Recall date 2015-03-12 Recall no.15V144000. This is very concerning as it could cause an accident resulting in injuries or death. I would like to have my vehicle checked for the recall.

Intermittent EPS warning light illuminates during highway driving with steering wheel lock-up subsequently followed by a reset of certain electrically powered items associated with but not necessarily limited to the following systems: 1. Stability Control System warning indication 2. TPMS light 3. Radio power cycles 4. Check engine light. After turning the car off and then back on again these issues clear initially, but will intermittently happen at random durations of time anywhere from an additional 1 to 3 hours of driving. I've been discussing with Toyota Customer Service, who has known issues with the 2015 Toyota Camry under NHTSA Campaign ID: 15V144000, but they are trying to tell me that it only applies to V6 and Hybrid 2015 Camry's. I feel that this is also applicable to my vehicle VIN: [XXX] . I feel Toyota is refusing to acknowledge this critical safety issue affecting more 2015 Toyota Camry vehicles. I've never had an issue like this with 5 other previously owned vehicles. When asked if I could pay for the fix myself they informed me that it is not possible without a recall! My Toyota dealer is refusing to fix the issue and Toyota Customer Service hasn't responded in over 3 weeks to my inquiry. LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING Automatic cruise control affected- not working. Does not maintain speed when using DRCC. mechanic states there is a problem with ECU response. loud revving sound heard after repeated attempts to use DRCC my other 2015 toyota camry base was affected and approved for repair still awaiting recall for this 2015 toyota camry XLE

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, a warning chime sounded. The steering warning light and other unknown warning lights illuminated; however, the vehicle continued to operate normally and without incident. Upon investigation, the contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V144000 (Steering) which she associated to the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

MY ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WENT OUT IN THREE YEARS ...NOT ABLE TO PROGRAM ANYTHING OR LISTEN TO RADIO. I UNDERSTAND THAT TOYOTA HAD A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM WITH MODELS FROM 2014 AND 2015.... WHICH MY CAR FALLS IN THERE. THEY ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THIS PROBLEM AND SAID THEY DONT HAVE A RECALL. HOWEVER TOYOTA DID SEND OUT NOTIFICATION TO MECHANICS TELLING THEM THERE WAS ISSUES WITH THESE ECUS . STANIONARY
