It has happened several times since we got the vehicle. There are times we are on the freeway and we press the gas but the car slows down and makes a horrible sound then after a little while we wiggle the shift handle and move it around to make it go. It has been very scary. Also the car has turned off when stopped at red light. We called the dealership and they just turned off the auto start. They told us we do not have extended warranty and that was it. Also the steering wheel gets locked up. We just pray that nothing happens to us. Could you advice please.

I am having a stalling issue when driving down the road. its not a constant issue but will occasionally stall/stop accelerating. you will have to let off the pedal and push down again. it will gain power back right after and be fine. believe it possibly a fuel pump issue or tps problem.

My engine cut off without warning at a very busy intersection. I was stuck in busy traffic. I could not get it restarted or out of park. (I am a resident of Altavista, Va. 24517 This incident occurred in South Boston, Va.,approx. 40-45 miles from where I live.) A South Boston Policeman stopped and a fire dept. employee offered their assistance (and were very helpful). They were almost hit by cars several times from each side. I knew I had to get the vehicle out of the middle of the street, so I asked the policeman to call a local garage to send a rollback (tow truck) to get it out of the street and the dangerous traffic. The local garage was equipped with a machine that showed what was wrong, The final settings had to be made by a Jeep dealer. The garage took it to a Jeep dealer in Henderson, NC. (approx. 44 miles from South Boston, Va). Personal in the service department informed us said that they had know this to happen before. The Jeep has a primary and secondary battery (the stop and go system). I understand that if the primary battery goes dead without warning, the secondary battery tries to pick up the entire electrical load and the smaller battery cannot handle it and it destroys the fuse block. Both batteries and the fuse block had to be replaced. I was without a car for approx. two weeks, and a great deal of expense ($1,391.64). I am now wondering if and when it will happen again.

My Jeep was brought to Carl Burger Jeep because the check engine light stays on all the time. The dealership performed several software updates. The Check Engine light still stays on and has been on every since. About two months now. It was discovered that there is a part required for the EV battery that is not available due to back order. The service dept. said it was safe to drive. How do they know that? There has been a case opened up and a person assigned to my case. Who knows what that means. All I know is I'm very uncomfortable driving around with the Check Engine light on 100% of the time, especially with the size of that battery sitting right in back of me. I was told by the service dept. that they do not have an ETA for the back-ordered part. Nor have I received any updates on Please give me your recommendation on what to do. About 2-2.5 months ago, our 2019 Jeep Wrangler completely stalled out at a stop light. At the time it stalled, the dash started flashing and gave me many warning lights. I was unable to put the transmission in park in order to try to start the vehicle again. After many attempts, I was finally able to place in park and start the vehicle. I then went thru a drive thru and it did the same thing and left me stranded in the drive thru lane without being able to start it for about 10 minutes. The next day, I was on my way to work and while traveling on the highway at 75 miles per hour, the vehicle stalled out, the dash wigged out and I lost all control of the vehicle including steering. The engine revved up to a higher RPM and I was unable to put it in neutral to try to slow it down and control the vehicle to a safe stop on the side of the highway. There were a couple of close calls with other vehicles due to the inability to control the steering or the engine speed. The next day, I took the Jeep to the dealership and when scanned for codes, there was over 150 codes including losing communication with the Body Control Module. Dealership test drove and the tech had the vehicle replicate the issues and leave him stranded 7 times in one day from and back to the shop. At this time, my concern is the safety of my family. For now it appears that the issue has been resolved, but there have been many similar instances reported with the same danger of crashing. Paperwork obtained from my dealership reflects there was a module that was replaced when the vehicle had less than 8,000 miles that was supposed to fix this issue, however it occurred to our jeep that had less than 25,000 miles on it. The paperwork also states "!!Attention!! This vehicle may have had 7 visits, 69 days down and 8 repeat repairs, service personnel should notify dealership service management and engage FCA service and parts resources." Doesn't this fall under the Lemon Law?

I was driving my vehicle on the expressway and a dash light with an “A” and a circle came on. My car began to slow down on its own and would not allow me to accelerate. I managed to coast off the expressway to an exit. I immediately smelled gas and my eyes began to burn. I tried to restart my car but it was sputtering. I checked under the hood and the car smelled like strong gas. After this my eyes were burning as if someone sprayed pepper spray in them. I had get assistance to get a tow. I went to a nearby urgent care to get my eyes checked out because after all of this they were blood shot red….I see that some 2020 2.0L Jeeps have a fuel line recall but my recall isn’t showing up. This vehicle should definitely have a recall. I also have issues with my radio saying “overheating” then the volume goes out and the radio shuts off.

6PE25014 · Instrument Panel Cluster (ipc) Failure
Opened Oct 23, 2025 · No close date supplied
Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/panel
The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) is opening a Preliminary Evaluation on 2020 Model Year Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers involving a malfunctioning Instrument Panel Clusters (IPC) resulting in the loss of important vehicle metrics and other status information. ODI has received 89 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) alleging a complete or partial loss of the IPC display while driving. The subject vehicles' IPC display includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, turn signal indicators, warning light, and other gauges that are normally illuminated while the vehicle is in operation. Loss of the fuel gauge while driving may lead to an inability to determine the fuel level and result in a loss of motive power, and the loss of other safety-related information may impede a driver’s ability to take action to prevent a safety risk. Furthermore, an IPC that is suddenly not visible to the driver may divert the driver’s attention from the driving task, potentially causing a vehicle crash. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation to evaluate the scope, severity and frequency of the alleged IPC malfunctions and to assess potential safety-related consequences. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has identified 68 Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) reports for model years (MY) 2021 through 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles alleging a loss of motive power. Recall 22V-865 was issued by the manufacturer to address an engine shutdown condition in certain MY 2021-2023 Wrangler 4xe vehicles. The complaints noted here contain both post recall remedy failures and failures in vehicles not included within the scope of 22V-865. An analysis comparing complaints received before the issuance of recall 22V-865 and complaints outside the scope of the recall has been conducted. The results show the current complaint rate is higher in the out of scope vehicles than it was for vehicles that were later covered by the recall. ODI is opening this Recall Query (RQ) to assess the severity of the alleged defect in vehicles not included in recall 22V-865.ODI will also assess the scope and remedy effectiveness of the recall. To review the ODI reports cited in the Opening Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.

NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.
DP14004 · Totally Integrated Power Module Failure

In a letter dated August 21, 2014, the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to initiate a defect investigation of alleged failures associated with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) installed in Chrysler SUV?s, trucks, and vans beginning in the 2007 model year. The petitioner alleges that TIPM defects may result in engine stall, airbag non-deployment, failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration, fire, and other symptoms. On September 25, 2014, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened DP14-004 to evaluate the petition for a grant or deny decision. ODI analyzed complaint data provided by CAS as well as complaints submitted to ODI from consumers. In total, there were 296 complaints submitted by the petitioner in the original petition and five supplements, including 271 complaints related to the subject vehicles equipped with TIPM-7. Approximately 3 percent of CAS complaints are related to vehicles equipped with TIPM-6 and ODI?s review of these complaints did not identify any safety defect trends. ODI conducted a detailed review of complaints narratives submitted by CAS and consumers including careful analysis of vehicle repair histories, warranty claims obtained from the manufacturer and any available Customer Assistance Inquiry reports (CAIR). Analysis of the field data indicated that MY2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles exhibited significantly higher complaint rates related to fuel pump relay (FPR) failures than other subject vehicles. In a September 3, 2014 letter to NHTSA, Chrysler submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR) identifying a defect in the FPR within the TIPM-7 which can result in a no start or stall condition in approximately 188,723 model year (MY) 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) and Dodge Durango (WD) vehicles manufactured from January 5, 2010 through July 20, 2011 (14V-530).In a February 24, 2015 letter, Chrysler submitted a second DIR expanding the scope of the FPR defect condition to include an additional 338,216 MY 2012 through 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured from September 17, 2010 through August 19, 2013 and MY 2012 through 2013 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured from January 18, 2011 through August 19, 2013 (15V-115).ODI analysis of the CAS allegations of TIPM defects resulting in stall while driving, airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, fire and other faults identified a single defect condition related to 1 of over 60 different circuits in the TIPM assembly. The most common effect of this defect condition, related to the fuel pump relay, was a no-start concern, but it could also result in stall while driving (76 complaints). No valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components.Except insofar as the petitioner's contentions relate to the defect condition addressed by the Chrysler recalls, the factual bases of the petitioner's contentions that any further investigation is necessary are unsupported. In our view, additional investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists or a NHTSA order for the notification and remedy of a safety-related defect as alleged by the petitioner at the conclusion of the requested investigation. Therefore, in view of the need to allocate and prioritize NHTSA's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's safety mission, the petition is den
