I am submitting this complaint regarding a critical electrical issue and potential safety hazard that occurred immediately after the 68C safety recall software update was performed. Since the 68C recall completion, my vehicle has experienced significant overnight High Voltage (HV) battery drain, losing approximately 10% of its state of charge while parked and powered off. I have returned the vehicle to the dealership three times for diagnostic testing. On the most recent visit, the dealership, working with Jeep engineers, claimed that the radio system fails to sleep, causing a continuous power draw from the battery. However, the dealership and Jeep engineer attributed this failure to a dash cam plugged into the factory 12V auxiliary power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). I believe this diagnosis is technically flawed and incorrect: The factory 12V outlet is off when the vehicle is powered down, meaning no current is drawn by the accessory once parked. The dash cam has been in continuous use since I purchased the vehicle without any issues; this battery drain issue began exclusively after the 68C software update. Blaming standard user accessories for the infotainment system's failure to enter sleep is unacceptable and ignores a likely software bug introduced by the 68C update. If the vehicle's electrical control modules fail to power down properly overnight, it poses unpredictable electrical and thermal risks. I escalated this issue to an FCA Case Manager, who upheld the engineer's assessment without addressing the underlying software defect. FCA has failed to perform due diligence in resolving this issue.

Vehicle has recurring failure of the Uconnect infotainment system and underlying Telematics Box Module (TBM). Diagnostic code B1560-13 (Cellular Antenna 1: Circuit Open or Short to Battery) has been documented on two separate dealer visits. On the most recent occurrence, the head unit displayed an Android Recovery boot loop screen preventing normal system operation. The vehicle is subject to open Safety Recall A7C / NHTSA 25V-710, which the manufacturer has classified as a loss-of-drive-power defect caused by incomplete communication between the TBM and Hybrid Control Processor (HCP). Safety risk: Per the manufacturer's own recall description, the HCP may reset while driving, causing loss of motive power without warning. This creates a crash risk for the driver, passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The Uconnect failures appear to be a symptom of the same TBM communication defect. First reported to dealer May 2025 at approximately 8,687 miles (RO DOCS917129). Dealer performed TBM2 reset per STAR bulletin S228A000005 and cleared codes. Same defect returned. Reported again June 2026 at approximately 24,969 miles (RO DOCS935140). Dealer documented the exact same code B1560-13, referenced the same STAR bulletin, and stated in writing: "The remedy for this condition is not currently available." Dealer reseated a connector as an interim measure. Failure has since recurred with the Android Recovery boot loop. Warning symptoms prior to failure: intermittent "Uconnect Box See Dealer" service messages on the dashboard display, followed by system reboots. Component is available for inspection. Vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Jeep/Chrysler dealer on two occasions. No independent inspection has been performed. No police or insurance involvement — no crash has occurred yet.

2024 Jeep 4XE Wrangler Rubicon, 3 recalls, 1st EV battery, potential fire hazard, 2nd Sand in the engine, potential fire hazard, 3rd wiring harness for steering unit, potential fire hazard, all of them can cause a fire with it being parked and not even plugged in for charging. FCA sent out the recall notices, and later said they had remedies, the problem is the remedies aren't remedies at all. I was at my dealership 2 days ago talking to my service writer, and he told me that another customer with the same vehicle passed the so called remedy for sand in the engine, a few days later his engine light came on, and now the dealership is replacing his engine, with that being said doesn't that mean that even with a passed so called remedy, it could still be a fire hazard. I have had all the recalls done at my dealership, but I don't feel that they are being honest about any of these remedies actually working, and that everytime I get in the vehicle or park it I'm afraid that it could still catch fire. I have a vehicle that has been taken off the market by the manufacturer, and has told the dealerships not to sell them, I have tried to get some reimbursement, but have had no luck, am hiring an attorney to try to get something done.

The high voltage battery failed to charge, power surges and power drops while on highway plus burning smell. Charger stopped charging and gave warning light. No one was able to replicate so I was forced to take vehicle back. I am in [XXX] and asked if this could be the issue. No one could verify or give me advice. Having done my own investigations I see high temperatures can affect and cause thermal fires. The manufacturer is not taking this seriously and also dealers in [XXX] where it is excessively over recommended temperatures to charge should be making owners of these vehicles aware or don’t sell them in the state. I have been treated appallingly from everyone trying to ensure my safety. Although I was lucky there was no serious incident I believe this will happen. Furthermore with the fires in EV or hybrids, why if excessive heat is an issue, are the fires not being investigated as to where and what states. I thought NHTSA was there to protect and provide safety information for manufacturers to follow. I am being left to drive a vehicle in which me my family and others are being put in danger. My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to FCA US Safety Recall A7C, NHTSA Campaign 25V710, for a software condition that may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and Hybrid Control Processor (HCP). According to the recall notice, the HCP may reset while driving, resulting in a loss of drive power without prior warning and increasing the risk of a crash. I received an Important Safety Recall notice from FCA US stating that a remedy is not currently available and that I must wait for a follow-up notice when the remedy becomes available. As a result, I am unable to have this safety recall repaired despite my willingness to do so. I have not experienced a crash, fire, injury, or known loss-of-drive-power incident. I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle remains subject to an unresolved safety recall for which FCA US has not made the final remedy available.

While driving my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, the vehicle suffered a major electronic/CAN-network failure. Service Shifter, ABS and ESC warnings appeared, the wipers activated on their own, controls malfunctioned, and power-steering assistance failed while the vehicle was moving, making it extremely difficult to steer. My two young children were in the vehicle. Jeep dealer diagnostics showed widespread communication faults involving steering, ABS/brake, transmission and other control modules. The dealer replaced the power-steering assembly and RF Hub, but the problem remains. On the first drive after repair, the ABS and ESC warnings repeatedly flashed on and off at highway speed. Interior lights are also flickering. I am concerned another network failure could again disable steering assistance or compromise ABS/braking-related safety systems and cause loss of vehicle control or a crash.

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/panel
The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) is opening a Preliminary Evaluation on 2020 Model Year Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers involving a malfunctioning Instrument Panel Clusters (IPC) resulting in the loss of important vehicle metrics and other status information. ODI has received 89 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) alleging a complete or partial loss of the IPC display while driving. The subject vehicles' IPC display includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, turn signal indicators, warning light, and other gauges that are normally illuminated while the vehicle is in operation. Loss of the fuel gauge while driving may lead to an inability to determine the fuel level and result in a loss of motive power, and the loss of other safety-related information may impede a driver’s ability to take action to prevent a safety risk. Furthermore, an IPC that is suddenly not visible to the driver may divert the driver’s attention from the driving task, potentially causing a vehicle crash. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has identified 68 Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) reports for model years (MY) 2021 through 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles alleging a loss of motive power. Recall 22V-865 was issued by the manufacturer to address an engine shutdown condition in certain MY 2021-2023 Wrangler 4xe vehicles. The complaints noted here contain both post recall remedy failures and failures in vehicles not included within the scope of 22V-865. An analysis comparing complaints received before the issuance of recall 22V-865 and complaints outside the scope of the recall has been conducted. The results show the current complaint rate is higher in the out of scope vehicles than it was for vehicles that were later covered by the recall. ODI is opening this Recall Query (RQ) to assess the severity of the alleged defect in vehicles not included in recall 22V-865.ODI will also assess the scope and remedy effectiveness of the recall. NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.
DP14004 · Totally Integrated Power Module Failure
Opened Sep 25, 2014 · Closed Jul 24, 2015

In a letter dated August 21, 2014, the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to initiate a defect investigation of alleged failures associated with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) installed in Chrysler SUV?s, trucks, and vans beginning in the 2007 model year. The petitioner alleges that TIPM defects may result in engine stall, airbag non-deployment, failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration, fire, and other symptoms. On September 25, 2014, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened DP14-004 to evaluate the petition for a grant or deny decision. ODI analyzed complaint data provided by CAS as well as complaints submitted to ODI from consumers. In total, there were 296 complaints submitted by the petitioner in the original petition and five supplements, including 271 complaints related to the subject vehicles equipped with TIPM-7. Approximately 3 percent of CAS complaints are related to vehicles equipped with TIPM-6 and ODI?s review of these complaints did not identify any safety defect trends. ODI conducted a detailed review of complaints narratives submitted by CAS and consumers including careful analysis of vehicle repair histories, warranty claims obtained from the manufacturer and any available Customer Assistance Inquiry reports (CAIR). Analysis of the field data indicated that MY2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles exhibited significantly higher complaint rates related to fuel pump relay (FPR) failures than other subject vehicles. In a September 3, 2014 letter to NHTSA, Chrysler submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR) identifying a defect in the FPR within the TIPM-7 which can result in a no start or stall condition in approximately 188,723 model year (MY) 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) and Dodge Durango (WD) vehicles manufactured from January 5, 2010 through July 20, 2011 (14V-530).In a February 24, 2015 letter, Chrysler submitted a second DIR expanding the scope of the FPR defect condition to include an additional 338,216 MY 2012 through 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured from September 17, 2010 through August 19, 2013 and MY 2012 through 2013 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured from January 18, 2011 through August 19, 2013 (15V-115).ODI analysis of the CAS allegations of TIPM defects resulting in stall while driving, airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, fire and other faults identified a single defect condition related to 1 of over 60 different circuits in the TIPM assembly. The most common effect of this defect condition, related to the fuel pump relay, was a no-start concern, but it could also result in stall while driving (76 complaints). No valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components.Except insofar as the petitioner's contentions relate to the defect condition addressed by the Chrysler recalls, the factual bases of the petitioner's contentions that any further investigation is necessary are unsupported. In our view, additional investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists or a NHTSA order for the notification and remedy of a safety-related defect as alleged by the petitioner at the conclusion of the requested investigation. Therefore, in view of the need to allocate and prioritize NHTSA's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's safety mission, the petition is den
