Toyota Corolla electrical problems

When using built in carplay navigation the gps will start drifting 10-20 feet from the highway into field or other highways causing it to reroute constantly. When phone is disconnected from CarPlay during the gps drifting current location will go back to right location on the phone. We tried connecting different phone to Corolla all had the same issues. My other two cars Don’t have this issue using the phones. Dealers won’t address the issue

Sometimes others have said that this occurred while in stop-and-go traffic on the highway or idling at a red light. Clearly, if a vehicle becomes disabled on a roadway with no prior warning of a failing battery, that is a safety issue. There was no warning of a failing battery. Battery was replaced, which was a surprise for a 2020 vehicle. However, this issue has occurred in newer vehicles as well if you review the comments in the online forums. Volume of media from certain apps can't be adjusted. The vehicle says that if media is not playing, the volume can't be adjusted. This can cause distraction while driving and increase risk of a crash. Specific application where this is the case: Youtube audio through an Android Auto connection. Yes it is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others is at risk, because all Toyota models with this infotainment system function the same way. Drivers may choose to become distracted by their mobile device while trying to adjust the media volume, risking a crash. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by dealer, however it would be very easy for me to do so. The vehicle has not been inspected by any party outside of the Toyota dealership. When attempting to adjust the volume, the volume level will appear as a numerical value in the infotainment screen ONLY IF there is currently "audio" playing. If there is no "audio" playing, an error message will appear telling the occupant to begin playing audio to adjust the volume. This becomes an issue when using an app like YouTube to play audio. With YouTube Premium, you can set a playlist of music, videos, or podcasts to listen to with the screen of your mobile device off. However, the infotainment system will not detect the audio the speakers is playing AS AUDIO, and will not adjust the volume. This leaves the driver with no choice but to pay for a Spotify, Sirius XM or Youtube Music subscription in order to listen to music or media and adjust the volume safely. Reproduction: Start vehicle. Start Android Auto. Start playing media through YouTube. Attempt to adjust media volume using the dial or buttons in the vehicle. Error message should appear. Only way to adjust volume is to switch to FM/AM Radio, play Spotify or other app to adjust volume and then resume YouTube media (REQUIRES TOUCHING PHONE), or don't use Android Auto and pay for Toyota GPS. HOW TO FIX: Allow volume adjustment at all times.

The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that when the outside temperature was hot, the vehicle was not working correctly. The vehicle was difficult to start, and there was an abnormal ticking sound while starting the vehicle. The contact allowed the vehicle to cool down before the vehicle would run smoothly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who retrieved DTC code: P1604 (Startability Malfunction), and the electronic control module needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 188,000.

My vehicle stalled when pulling out into traffic. I lost power steering and electrical and the engine died. The vehicle had to be restarted to continue driving. I was going about 1 to 2 mph when the issue happened. The vehicle was in motion and stalled while other vehicles were in motion putting my safety at risk, had I been going any faster or if there was an increased amount of traffic. I reported the problem to the dealer service center, but they were unable to reproduce it. The vehicle was inspected by Toyota only, no police or insurance. When the issue happened, a warning light appeared on the dash similar to a circle with an exclamation mark inside. There were no messages and no other symptoms prior to the failure.

several weeks After I took my vehicle into the local dealership for the PWMS assembly window panel control switch problem, I realized my door panel and the switch area was loose. I mentioned this after a couple weeks when I really noticed the Window Master Switch mechanism was dropping downward under the panel cover. The dealership did not take me seriously, so it continued to get worse. I should have taken the car back and insisted they fix it. As of today, I cannot use my Key for power entry, i must manually use the key in the door. The power on the windows still works, but the whole master switch assembly is precariously hanging there in the door and the panel that went on top was damaged when they replaced it so now its broken off in pieces and cannot even be used. I am SO unhappy with this dealership, for the many times I have taken my car in for service. I do not want to go back to them at all after the horribly shoddy job they did with the Master Switch and their lack of concern when I told them they put my door back together poorly. Is the work guaranteed, particularly when it's been this long since I took my car in for this recall fix? I take care of my car which at its age only has 38,000 miles on it. I do not want to take it to the same dealership and unfortunately there's not another one close by. Can you help me by demanding a dealership fix my problem before I actually have a fire due to the unprofessional manner in which the dealership handled my recall fix? I wish I had ignored the recall because my car was better off before I took it in.
