ENTIRE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM WENT OUT .CONTACTED DEALER AND MANUFACTURER. *AK
BRAKES FAILED CAUSING ACCIDENT/INJURIES
BRAKES FAILED AT 35 MPH ALLOWING VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO STOPPED VEHICLE; AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.
DUE TO ABS BRAKE PEDAL DESIGN APPLICATION OF THE PEDAL RESULTS IN ACCIDENTIAL DEPRESSION OF THE ACCELERATOR AT THE SAME TIME.
BRAKES: FRONT BRAKE PADS REPLACED AT 10, 000, REPLACED AGAIN AT 14, 000, AND AT 18, 000 REPLACED AGAIN WITH NEW ROTORS. DEALER CANNOT FIND CAUSE FOR THE PROBLEM. GM TOOK CARE OF REPAIR BILL THIS TIME AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BCAUSE THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *AK
CONSUMER HAD AN ACCIDENT AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT WORK. *AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. IF THE ENGINE STARTER FAILS TO ENGAGE AND THE DRIVER HOLD THE KEY IN THE "START" POSITION FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD, HIGH CURRENT FLOWS THROUGH THE IGNITION SWITCH, PRODUCING HEAT THAT CAN MELT SWITCH PARTS.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A FIRE COULD OCCUR IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND SPREAD TO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A RELAY KIT AND VERIFY THAT THE VEHICLE WILL START WITH A PROPERLY CHARGED BATTERY IN GOOD OPERATING CONDITION (ADEQUATE RESERVE CAPACITY, OR COLD CRANKING AMPS). THIS CAMPAIGN DOES NOT COVER BATTERY REPLACEMENT OR UNRELATED STARTING SYSTEM OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPAIRS.
