Turn the car off--but it does not turn off. I put my foot on the brake and turning it off does not work. I have to shake and move the gear shifter aggressively for it to turn off and moving the car and reversing to get the car to turn off.

THE CAR WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN YOU PUSH THE BUTTON BECAUSE IT DOES NOT REALIZE IT IS IN ''PARK'. THE ISSUE IS WITH DEFECTIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SWITCH. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS.

THE BOLT CONNECTING THE CONTROL ARM TO THE WHEEL HAD SHEARED OFF. DUE TO THE DECOUPLING, THE LEFT AXLE WAS PULLED OUT OF TRANSMISSION AND WAS DAMAGED AS WELL. LUCKILY, THIS OCCURRED AT A SLOW SPEED AND NO ONE WAS INJURED (AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC).
