After the 68c recall the power of the electric drive is limited. Frequent power loss occurs on highway driving during acceleration (merging onto highway or passing other cars). Despite the battery being charged up to 50% there is only 25% power available. The car is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The internal combustion engine states in these cases with several seconds delay. During that time the car does not accelerate sufficiently to safely merge onto a highway or pass other cars. The power loss happens without warning during critical drive situations like merging onto a highway or passing other cars. The driver expects a continuous level of power by the car, not a sudden power loss. This is reported by countless other drivers on all social media platform as a consequence of the 68C recall that affects 350 000 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe. Jeep does not respond to customer complaints or requests for clarification.

The issue involves the engine/powertrain system as identified in Recall 78C for my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The recall states there is a risk of catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected loss of propulsion. At this time, the manufacturer has indicated that no repair remedy is available. This defect creates a safety concern because sudden loss of propulsion or engine failure could occur without warning while driving, increasing the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. Prior to the recall, I experienced an incident where the vehicle began sputtering and would not respond properly to acceleration, significantly limiting vehicle movement. The issue was evaluated by a dealership, but the condition could not be replicated at that time. Based on the current recall involving engine contamination and propulsion failure, I am concerned that this prior incident may be related. The problem has not been resolved because there is currently no available repair. The manufacturer has acknowledged the defect through the recall but has not provided a timeline for a fix. I have contacted the manufacturer regarding this safety issue; however, my concerns about the risk associated with this defect have not been addressed, and no resolution has been provided. I am submitting this complaint to document the safety risk associated with this unresolved defect and the lack of an available remedy. Continued operation of the vehicle may pose a risk to occupants and others on the roadway due to the potential for sudden loss of propulsion or engine failure.

A recall for the possibility that sand may have entered the engine during casting has been in place since November 2025. To date, Stellantis has not provided a remedy that, in my opinion, should require a complete engine replacement. I am required to travel extensively, often hundreds of miles at a time, for work, and this is my only vehicle. I am frequently on freeways with a speed limit of 65-70 mph. Knowing there is a chance my vehicle could suddenly suffer a catastrophic engine failure and fire at these speeds is absolutely terrifying, not only for me and any injuries that I might suffer, but also for the drivers sharing the road with me.

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, I experienced a complete and sudden power loss while driving home. Without any warning, my vehicle shut down entirely in the middle of the road. I was unable to move the vehicle to safety, shift it into park or neutral, or regain any control of the vehicle. This left me stranded in an extremely dangerous situation, exposed to oncoming traffic and at significant personal risk. Due to the total failure of the vehicle, I was forced to have it towed to a Jeep dealership. A vehicle of this age and condition should not experience a catastrophic failure of this nature—especially one that creates such a severe safety hazard. This incident has caused serious concern regarding the reliability and safety of my vehicle. A complete loss of power while driving is unacceptable and could have resulted in a far more serious outcome. I am requesting a full investigation into this failure, a clear explanation of the cause, and immediate corrective action. Additionally, I expect Jeep to address the safety implications of this issue and provide assurance that this will not happen again. Please treat this matter with urgency. I expect prompt communication and a resolution.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has had multiple safety recalls. My Jeep began losing all engine power while driving down the highway, causing it to jump forward and stall back. During this power malfunction, the engine began smoking and a burning smell was emitted from the engine compartment. I was luckily close enough to home that I made it back to my driveway before it completely lost power. I was worried that it was going to catch fire and cause harm to my surrounding neighbors, so I stood outside for a while to make sure I did not need to call the fire department. I then reached out to Stellantis to have the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership because the issues that arose were consistent with the 78C recall. I opened a claim with Stellantis as well to have an inspector look at the vehicle but before they were able to see the vehicle, the dealership "repaired" it and said it was just a malfunctioning piston, and I could come get the Jeep. I refused, because it was still a safety risk with no fix for the recall and did not feel safe putting my safety at risk or others safety on the road at risk. Stellantis sent me a letter a week later saying the vehicle showed no signs of fire or burning and is safe to operate now. I refuse to believe this because a genuine inspection was never done to the vehicle after the incident and now Stellantis is putting my and others safety at risk by saying the vehicle is "fixed".

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to Recall 78C (NHTSA #25V-766) regarding sand contamination in the engine. The manufacturer officially warns that this defect can cause 'catastrophic engine failure' resulting in a 'vehicle fire' or an 'unrecoverable loss of propulsion'. As of April 2026, the manufacturer has no available fix for this safety hazard. Simultaneously, the vehicle suffers from persistent electrical failures. Despite a repair attempt on March 3, 2026, where the 12V battery was replaced under warranty, the vehicle continues to display 'Aux Switches Temporarily Unavailable' errors accompanied by constant audible chiming while driving. These combined defects create an extreme and unreasonable safety risk. Because the manufacturer has admitted the engine is a fire hazard but cannot provide a repair, the vehicle is effectively unmarketable and unsafe for operation. I am currently grounded and utilizing a rental vehicle as I do not feel safe operating this Jeep.

I am reporting a recurring structural failure of the Sky One-Touch power top assembly on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Since August 28, 2024, the vehicle has been out of service for a cumulative total of 62 business days across seven separate repair attempts. Safety Risk: The failure involves the tensioning system and internal springs of the power top. The defect has progressed to the point that visible daylight is present through the gaps between the roof assembly and the vehicle body while the top is fully closed. At highway speeds (55–70 mph), this gap causes the roof to lift and oscillate significantly. This creates a severe driver distraction and poses an unreasonable risk of the assembly further destabilizing or detaching from the vehicle while in motion, endangering occupants and trailing traffic. Dealer Misconduct & Repair History: During the third repair attempt, a service associate confirmed the loss of tension in the straps and springs. However, the technician subsequently refused to document these findings. The dealership omitted from their report to Stellantis that they performed unauthorized 'readjustments' and 'screwed the assembly back in' to temporarily mask the defect. This deceptive reporting prevents an accurate warranty history and deliberately avoids Lemon Law accountability. Despite these 'fixes,' the structural seal remains compromised. The vehicle is currently unsafe for highway operation."

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The remote start antenna cable may be pinched, which can cause the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light not to illuminate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of a problem increases the risk of a crash.

The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024 through June 20, 2024. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.
