2024 Jeep Wrangler

* See list below for specifics - yes vehicle is available at mechanics location * 6 lane intersection - vehicle and myself were in center lane blocking traffic - made 911 call requesting officer since I was blocking traffic * See below for detailed description * No at this particular time, it is at the mechanic's shop for further investigation - shop was closed by the time the tow truck carried the jeep to the drop off location * See below for detailed description Within the last week the jeep turned off on its own while sitting with the engine running in a parking spot, it also automatically slowed down to less than 25 mph unable to give it gas and then a warning came on about the sway bar being disconnected, the check engine light came on for a few days then turned off by it self, the last incident some of the following warning lights came on before the jeep came to a stop on it's own while traveling approx 45 mph on a 6 lane street - serv 4wd, auto emergency braking unavailable, sway bar!, service electronic stability control, sway bar disconnect unavailable, forward collision warning off, adaptive cruise control fault, and as the jeep cut off the warning light for the plug status fault warning came on. The vehicle has been towed to a mechanic and they will let me know the status of the jeep once they have checked it out.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle experiences a severe front-end steering and suspension oscillation commonly referred to as “death wobble.” After driving over uneven pavement, bridge joints, potholes, or rough highway surfaces at highway speeds, the steering wheel begins violently shaking side-to-side and the front suspension appears to oscillate uncontrollably. The vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain lane control until speed is significantly reduced. The issue first occurred at approximately 10,000 miles and has recently returned. Although the current episodes are somewhat less severe than the initial event, the vehicle still becomes unstable above approximately 65 mph and cannot be safely driven at normal highway speeds. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect creates a serious safety hazard because the steering instability occurs suddenly at highway speeds and makes the vehicle feel temporarily out of control. During the initial in incident, the steering wheel shook violently after hitting an uneven section of highway pavement, and I believed I could lose control of the vehicle or collide with surrounding traffic. The only way to stop the oscillation is to rapidly reduce speed to approximately 50 mph or lower, which itself creates additional danger from surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speed. The recurrence of the issue has made me afraid to drive the vehicle on highways or at normal traffic speeds due to concern over loss of steering control and potential crash risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle was serviced. The dealer performed the fix of the wheel damperer after the original occurrence. While those actions temporarily reduced the severity of the symptoms, they did not permanent. This is a known issue for Jeep's since 2018, I have had 3 and all 3 have had it

I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN [XXX] . The apparent systems involved are the hybrid propulsion system, charging/high-voltage battery system, powertrain control system, and/or regenerative braking/deceleration system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After prior battery/charging-related issues and recent Jeep recall service, the vehicle displayed a “Service Charging System” warning and the check-engine light came on. While driving home, the vehicle did not decelerate normally when I removed my foot from the accelerator. It felt like the Jeep continued propelling itself or maintaining speed without accelerator input. I drove approximately one mile down my street at about 40 mph, and the vehicle did not slow down as expected unless I applied the brakes firmly. I had to brake harder than normal to slow the vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appeared to continue moving at speed without normal deceleration, which could have caused a crash or prevented me from stopping in time. After the incident, the vehicle also turn off. It took multiple tries and about 20 minutes to turn off. The “Service Charging System” message and check-engine light remained on. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but I am arranging for the vehicle to be towed/inspected and do not intend to drive it due to the safety concern. The vehicle was recently inspected/serviced by a Jeep dealer for recall-related work before this incident. I am requesting that the dealer/manufacturer inspect the vehicle and preserve all DTCs, freeze-frame data, module update records, HV battery/charging diagnostics, and any available accelerator/brake/propulsion data. first incident rear defrost tab would come on and get so hot it was burning the rear glass. major fire risk burning the components, reported to dealer, dealer replaced glass and component, no warnings, owner reported "smelling something burning". fire fighter found burned glass and component which was then unplugged. 2nd- hub centric ring loose and causing noise rubbing inside of wheel. owner states dragging sound from left to right at low speeds and one incident of vehicle not able to turn to the right. dealer replaced new hub ring. no warning alerts, major safety concern in regular operation of vehicle while driving could cause catastrophic failure and/or death. 3rd and 4th reported to dealer Sep 29, 2025 that transmission does not want to shift and when accelerating it feels like it does not want to pull. dealer reported no problem found reported to dealer march 26th 2026 that when accelerating and letting off the gas the vehicle makes a grinding noise and will jerk and jump. Also when pressing gas an letting off it sounds like it tries shutting off. dealer kept vehicle for greater than 30 days. dealer replaced rear end due to bearing failure and metal contamination which led to axle seal and bearing replacement for also being contaminated, dealer had to drill holes to swap over relocation bracket to track bar to accommodate lift. major drive train failure safety defect possibly leading to a catastrophic failure and/or death. no warning alerts 5th vehicle was returned with in the same week for major oil leak on back tires still at dealer ship waiting repairs. no warning alerts

I have had several instances of the infotainment system freezing up after starting the Jeep and putting it into reverse. When this happens, the radio sound is replaced with a buzzing noise and the rear camera image becomes frozen. None of the radio controls work and putting the vehicle into Park doesn't have any impact. The only resolution is to push and hold the power button until the system resets. This defeats the purpose of having a rear camera while reversing and puts the failure at the worst possible time (while backing up).

Yesterday evening we were driving and the orange check engine light came on. Followed by a red battery light, the red turtle and an exclamation point with a car and a speedometer symbol. It would not let me switch to electric e-save and kept me in hybrid mode. Regenerative braking would not work either. Once safely parked it was making a loud high pitched whining noise. It would also drop RPMs while idling and then they would rev up quickly. Once the tow truck arrived he tried to drive it up on the flat bed but it had no power to make it up the ramp and had to be pulled with the tow cable up the ramp. Another thing I have noticed as of the last 68c update is that when in electric mode and merging onto a freeway for example, it gets really sluggish at about 65mph and the gas engine won't kick in like it used to before the update. It doesn't go above 65 and slows down to about 62 even if my foot is pedal to the floor before ice kicks in. Makes it pretty dangerous to be merging with traffic going 70+.

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.

With the recent completion of recalls 68&78c , and a new HV battery, APPEARS TO ME, thatJeep has changed the software for the throttle response when in electric mode. The result creates a safety hazard as you lose pedal response and power when the battery reaches below 35% or about 9 miles remaining. On the highway the jeep loses all power and will not accelerate over 62 mph. And the same around town when you need that extra umph, the pedal becomes dead. More Scary when you’re on the highway!! The result? Since the electric power output is unavailable, you have to mash the pedal to the flow to kick it out of electric mode. But this is also unsafe as now you start the engine (often cold as I was running electric mode) and you smash the rpm’s over 6k to launch the gas engine (That can’t be good for the engine long term) . Before battery replacement and recall software updates, this process was very smooth and occurred with 5% or less battery life. This had occurred a few times and could probably reproduce it when this scenario is present
