My car has shut off three different times while driving, completely losing power in the middle of the road. It then turned back on by itself and suddenly accelerated on its own. The check engine light is on, and the SOS system keeps activating and won’t turn off. What’s worse is that after taking it to the dealership, they’re now trying to return the car to me even though there’s an open safety recall that hasn’t been fixed. This is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.

Year: 2024 Make & Model: Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4xe Body Style: Sahara 4x4 VIN: [XXX] On October 14, 2025, I began to drive my car home. After the use of the brakes, while I was pulling out of a large parking lot, the car functionally went into neutral, the “D” on PRNDL display began to blink. The brakes worked. I pulled over, put the car into Park and then into Drive again. Still, no change. I turned the car on and off and put it into Drive and the car began to drive normally, until I reached a stop light, exiting the parking lot. Then, the same thing occurred. The “D” began blinking and the car was unresponsive to the accelerator. I turned off and re-started the car. Again, it drove fine. The “D” was lit, but didn’t blink. I was driving very slowly and then went down a hill. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the same thing occurred again. I was only 6 miles or less from the dealership. So, after re-starting the car for the 3rd or 4th time, I learned that using the parking brake did not disrupt the car and the accelerator continued to work. I drove to the dealership’s service department and used the parking brake when I needed to slow down. Today is 10/18/2025. I received a call back on 10/16 and none since. Today, I drove out to the service department and talked directly to a manager, who was vague on the car’s status. Driving on our way to a JEEP INVASION (local). We had our 3 children in the back seat. The jeep was traveling about 45 mph and the accelerator stopped working. Thankfully we were not on a freeway and no one was behind us. We had to pull over and turn the jeep off and then back on. It happened 3 times on the way there. We took it into the local dealership and they ran a test on it. We were told it happened because of the UConnect update performed over the weekend. We are currently trying to get out of our lease. We only have 16k miles on it and have taken it into the dealership 5+ times due to issues similar to this. But we have never had to worry about our safety the previous times. It has become a driving risk for us and we do not feel comfortable taking our children in it anymore. I feel like the vehicle shutting down felt the same as the brake system not working while we were driving. We had the 4xe battery replaced in the past year because we were left stranded in a parking lot because the vehicle would not turn on.

I was driving my car and came to a near stop. when I attempted to drive the car again the vehicle displayed a message to shift to park and then restart the vehicle. I did that and was able to drive another 30 miles home. The next day, I drove the car 20 miles to get an oil change. When I drove a mile away from the oil change location the car displayed a shift to park and restart message again. After that, I was able to drive the car 20 miles home. About an hour later, I drove 1/2 mile up the road and the car again displayed a shift to park message and restart as I was driving up to 50 mph on the highway. I was able to get the car home, but the message displayed again twice. The car shuts off if you do not follow the instructions so as I was driving up to 50 mph the car lost power creating a very dangerous driving scenario.

My car stalled 16 times on [XXX] due to unknown issues. The first time happened on [XXX] . Then multiple times driving from the first location to my residence in East Quogue and then to the dealer. The car would be in drive and suddenly stall, saying there was an issue with the hybrid motor. It also had multiple engine errors pop up. The car is only 15 months old. The idea that it would stall on a highway is very dangerous. I had to pull over, put the car in park, and sometimes it would power on. Otherwise it would take two to three attempts to start the car to continue driving. It was an extremely hazardous situation. It looks to be a software update error on behalf of Stellantis. The stereo has been glitching for about a couple of month where it constantly has to reboot while driving. It has now caused the issues for the whole car to just die while in motion.. this is I huge safety issue especially with younger kids. If I was on the highway when this would have happened who knows how much more fatal this could have been. I do a ton of highway driving and that’s all we have used the car for and for drive around our small town. I fear that even taking it to the dealership to get it fixed I am not sure i am comfortable in its after features it has..

Jeep lunched an OTA update on Friday October 10, 2025 in the afternoon (Los Angeles time area). I did the update when I came home and the next day when I started driving the car it abruptly stopped, signals were blinking including the engine system one and it was stating that I was experiencing an electric issue. It was also asking me to put the car in parking mode and I needed to shut off and restart the car to gain power again but it was stopping really quickly after again. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 46D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The remote start antenna cable may be pinched, which can cause the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light not to illuminate as intended. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of a problem increases the risk of a crash.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.
