2024 Jeep Wrangler

I own a 2024 Jeep 4xe in Alabama with approximately 9,000 miles. The vehicle was towed to a dealership due to safety concerns related to active recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery, as well as a second engine-related recall for which no remedy has been issued. The vehicle was checked in and a repair order was opened. Dealer diagnostic notes indicate trouble codes related to the high-voltage system, coolant heater, and EVAP system, and state that certain components “need to be replaced.” Despite this, I later received a text message stating the vehicle was “ready for pickup,” even though active safety recalls remain and it was not clearly communicated that the listed components were replaced. Because these recalls involve potential fire risk and high-voltage system faults, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, especially with children riding in it. The vehicle has remained at the dealership for almost 2 weeks with limited communication. I am currently paying for a rental vehicle out of pocket while awaiting reimbursement from Stellantis, with no clear timeline for repayment or confirmation of continued coverage. Attempts to obtain updates from both the dealership and Stellantis case management have often gone unanswered. I am submitting this complaint due to unresolved safety concerns, extended vehicle downtime, unclear repair status, and financial impact related to rental transportation.

I am writing to demand the immediate buyback of my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe due to catastrophic safety defects, multiple recalls, and Stellantis's own actions that have rendered this vehicle unsafe, unmarketable, and virtually worthless. The confluence of critical safety recalls, stop-sale orders, and the announced phase-out of this model line has created an untenable situation that warrants full repurchase of this defective vehicle. CRITICAL SAFETY DEFECTS AND RECALLS My vehicle is subject to the high-voltage battery fire risk recall, which poses an imminent danger to my safety, my family's safety, and public safety. The risk of spontaneous battery fire—even when the vehicle is parked and turned off—is unconscionable and represents a fundamental failure in engineering and quality control. I purchased this vehicle with the reasonable expectation that it would not pose a fire hazard that could destroy my property or endanger lives. Additionally, this vehicle is affected by the engine casting contamination defect, which compromises the structural integrity and reliability of the engine itself. This is not a minor defect; it strikes at the core functionality of the vehicle and raises serious questions about long-term durability and safety. STOP-SALE ORDER AND PHASE-OUT ANNOUNCEMENT Stellantis has issued a stop-sale order on these vehicles, effectively acknowledging that they are unfit for sale to consumers. If this vehicle is too dangerous and defective to sell to new customers, it is equally unacceptable for me to continue owning and operating it. The stop-sale order is a public admission of the severity of these defects. Furthermore, Stellantis has announced the phase-out of the Wrangler 4xe line, which has immediate and devastating consequences for vehicle value, parts availability, service support, and resale potential. This decision effectively orphans current owners and guarantees dramatic depreciation far beyond normal market conditions. CATASTROPHIC FINANCIAL IMP

UNKNOWN I did not get a letter from the manufacturer alerting me to these recalls. I was told by the service center that there is currently no remedy available. I was told there was no restrictions. I then contacted the manufacturer and was told there are no remedies available and no timeline as to when they would be available. The recalls cite possible fire, and stopping while being driven. No one can guarantee my safety.

This compliant is based on the manufactures unwillingness to provide a rental car despite the fact the car is in the shop now for over a week. They have stated in writing that they will not provide a rental car or alternative transportation until the repair for NHTSA recall number 25V-766 or 78C is determined. This leads me without a usable vehicle for an unknown period of time and their refusal to provide a rental in the main time while the vehicle is under factory warranty is a dereliction of their responsibility to provide a working product to the customer. I am submitting this complaint regarding my leased Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which has been affected by two recalls: Recall 68C: My vehicle was not drivable for over 60 days while awaiting a repair under this recall. For 60+ days this recall was a fire risk, left me unable to charge my vehicle, and I was advised to park away from structures or other vehicles. This caused a significant and unreasonable loss of use, even though a fix is now available. Recall 78C: My vehicle is currently affected by Recall 78C, for which no remedy is available. Because of this recall, I have been instructed to limit vehicle operation due to safety concerns, including the risk of engine failure, unexpected vehicle crash, and fire. These restrictions prevent normal and safe use of the vehicle. The combination of these recalls has resulted in substantial impairment of the vehicle’s use and safety. Stellantis has had more than a reasonable opportunity to repair these defects. I am concerned that the vehicle poses an ongoing safety risk and that delays in remedy are unreasonable. I request that NHTSA document this complaint and investigate Stellantis’ handling of Recalls 68C and 78C, and I am submitting this in conjunction with a formal Ohio Lemon Law demand for lease repurchase.

THIS IS A LEASED VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD 3 RECALLS : 2 RECALLS , THAT AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING, COULD BE SCHEDULE FOR A POTENTIAL FIX (DONE ON 12/31). THERE IS 1 THAT STILL HAS NO FIX. THESE ARE HIGHLY DANGERS RISKS (FIRES, EXPLOSIONS, COMPLETE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING, ETC) THIS IS MY FAMILY VEHICLE, CHILDREN ARE IN THIS CAR. I AM CURRENTLY PAYING WELL MORE THAN THE CAR IS VALUED AT SINCE IT DEPRICIATED DO TO RISKS OF SAFTY, AND I AM RISKING MY CHILDREN'S AND MY OWN LIFE BELIEVING THAT THERE WILL BE A FIX AND I DONT EXPLODE TAKING THEM TO SCHOOL OR MYSELF TO WORK. THIS VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN ON ME TWICE IN 8 WEEKS BEFORE HAVING THE RECALLS THAT COULD BE DONE SCHEDULED. IT JUST DIES NO INTERIOR LIGHTS, NO WAY TO SHIFT IT OUT OF GEAR TO GET IT TO SAFE PLACE TO BE IN A DEAD VEHICLE. SINCE HAVING THE 2 RECALLS AND THE 12V LOOKED AT IT HAS BEEN RUNNING IN FORM MODE..NOT WHY YOU PURCHASE A HYBRID. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE IS A JOKE AND STALLANTIS (ALSO MY LEASING COMPANY) WILL ONLY RETUNS MY CALLS IF I “FORGET” TO MAKE PAYMENT BY THE 10TH OF THE MONTH…FINALLY FIGURED THAT OUT. I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ). A high-voltage battery safety recall for fire risk was issued on October 30, 2025 (NHTSA 25V-741 / Stellantis 68C). From the date of the recall, I did not use the plug-in battery function as intended because of the fire-risk recall instructions. A remedy was not available until mid-December 2025. When I brought the vehicle in for the recall remedy, the battery failed the recall procedure/diagnostic and now requires a full high-voltage battery replacement. The vehicle will be out of service for approximately two weeks. This recall has prevented normal safe use of the PHEV battery function and has resulted in extended loss of use while awaiting battery replacement. Subject: Safety Complaint – 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) – Recall 68C High Voltage Battery Fire Risk Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am filing this safety complaint for my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-in Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ) regarding Safety Recall 68C (NHTSA Campaign Number 25V-741) – High Voltage Battery Defect. The recall notice states that the HV battery may become damaged during normal vehicle operation, leading to internal short circuit, overheating, and potential vehicle fire – even when parked or not charging. This poses a serious life-threatening risk to occupants, family members, and bystanders. Current interim remedy is insufficient: Owners advised to refrain from recharging and park away from structures/other vehicles. Permanent remedy (battery replacement) is still under development as of December 2025. Vehicle is effectively unusable for normal family use (cannot park in garage, constant fire fear). I operate in E-Save mode only (no charging), but risk remains per manufacturer notice. Family details: Wife and two children – safety severely impacted. I request NHTSA to: Escalate investigation into this defect. Pressure Stellantis/FCA US LLC for immediate permanent remedy by way of lease termination. Consider expanding recall scope if needed.
