My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has been subject to four safety recalls in the ten months I have owned it, three involving vehicle fire risk: 56C/25V-527 (TPMS, completed), 68C/25V-741 (high-voltage battery cell separator damage/fire risk, completed), 78C/25V-766 (casting sand contamination of the engine), and 21D/26V-363 (electric hydraulic power steering pump overheating/fire risk). Recall 78C was announced November 6, 2025, warning that my engine may be contaminated with casting sand and may suffer catastrophic engine failure, a vehicle fire, or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. More than eight months later, no remedy has been performed on my vehicle and the recall remains open. Recall 21D is also open, with FCA instructing me to park outside and away from structures because the vehicle may catch fire even while parked with the ignition off. Under recall 68C I was previously instructed not to charge the vehicle.

"The vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic high-voltage powertrain failure while operating at highway speeds 300 miles away from home. The failure occurred immediately after the vehicle received the manufacturer's Safety Recall 68C / NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-814 software update. The software flash completely 'bricked' the high-voltage battery system, induced an immediate vehicle shutdown, and stripped all hybrid propulsion. This defect created an immediate and severe highway safety hazard, rendering the vehicle entirely inoperable on the spot. The manufacturer is currently replacing the defective hardware with an identical physical battery cell structure, which fails to permanently resolve the underlying thermal fire risk and recurring safety hazard."

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?Multiple components across four separate manufacturer safety recalls: (1) the high-voltage battery (Recall 68C), currently being replaced by the dealer; (2) the Hybrid Control Processor / drive system (Recall A7C); (3) the electric hydraulic power steering pump (Recall 21D); and (4) the 2.0L engine (Recall 78C, status disputed — see below). The vehicle is currently at the authorized dealer and is available for inspection there. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?Recalls 68C and 21D are both manufacturer-designated fire risks; 21D specifically carries an "URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED" designation in NHTSA's own database. Recall A7C describes a loss of drive power without warning while driving, which the manufacturer states may cause a vehicle crash. I experienced a stalling event with the drive indicator blinking on 10/17/2025 (10,553 miles); UNKNOWN whether this was directly caused by the A7C defect, but the symptoms match the recall's description.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?The 68C battery failure has been confirmed by the dealer, who is currently performing a full battery replacement. My vehicle is confirmed affected by three active NHTSA safety recalls, none of which currently have an available remedy: • NHTSA Recall 25V741000 – High Voltage Battery May Fail and Cause Fire. Issued October 2025. This is the third recall issued for this same underlying defect. I have been monitoring this recall since it was issued — now over eight months later — with no resolution. • NHTSA Recall 25V710 (Manufacturer Recall A7C) – Loss of Motive Power While Driving. Issued October 2025. An interim backend policy update was implemented but does not constitute a full fix. • NHTSA Recall 26V363000 – Power Steering Wiring May Catch Fire. Issued June 2026. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a fire even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition off. No remedy currently available. As a result of recalls 25V741000 and 26V363000, Chrysler/FCA has officially instructed me to park my vehicle outside and away from all structures at all times, and to refrain from charging my vehicle until a remedy is available. That charging restriction is a serious problem independent of the safety concerns. I specifically chose and leased the 4xe model for its plug-in hybrid capability and the fuel economy benefits it provides. I am now officially instructed not to charge it — meaning the vehicle cannot be used as intended or as it was represented to me at the time of lease signing. I have been unable to charge my vehicle for eight months, with no remedy available and no timeline provided. I do not feel safe driving this car. It can catch fire not only while parked, but also while driving. I am paying $500 per month for a vehicle that cannot operate as intended, poses active safety risks with no fix available, and has been in this condition for the majority of my lease term. The value I am receiving does not reflect the payments I am making.

* See list below for specifics - yes vehicle is available at mechanics location * 6 lane intersection - vehicle and myself were in center lane blocking traffic - made 911 call requesting officer since I was blocking traffic * See below for detailed description * No at this particular time, it is at the mechanic's shop for further investigation - shop was closed by the time the tow truck carried the jeep to the drop off location * See below for detailed description Within the last week the jeep turned off on its own while sitting with the engine running in a parking spot, it also automatically slowed down to less than 25 mph unable to give it gas and then a warning came on about the sway bar being disconnected, the check engine light came on for a few days then turned off by it self, the last incident some of the following warning lights came on before the jeep came to a stop on it's own while traveling approx 45 mph on a 6 lane street - serv 4wd, auto emergency braking unavailable, sway bar!, service electronic stability control, sway bar disconnect unavailable, forward collision warning off, adaptive cruise control fault, and as the jeep cut off the warning light for the plug status fault warning came on. The vehicle has been towed to a mechanic and they will let me know the status of the jeep once they have checked it out.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is 21D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 46D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The remote start antenna cable may be pinched, which can cause the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light not to illuminate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of a problem increases the risk of a crash.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.
