2019 Jeep Cherokee

The 8.4 uconnect screen is delaminating causing an internal malfunction. This presents a serious safety concern that has been repeatedly reported to the NHTSA and FCA. The screen goes black and freezes; causing loss of back up cameras, loss of navigation, climate and radio changing. The screen constantly changing causes distraction to the driver posing a significant safety issue. This is a known issue and yet FCA continues to put drivers, passengers and others on the road at risk by intentionally and knowingly concealing or omitting facts concerning the quality of the vehicle and the defective Uconnect and the risk to safety. FCA and the dealer concealed the defect with no intent to replace or repair the defect during the warranty period. Then refuse to cover the fix that is over $2,000. The issue has been reproduced at the dealer service department and on video. Prior to the complete delamination and screen failure the system would turn black and reboot frequently. No reasonable customer expects a vehicle to present a defect that exposes drivers and occupants to such a safety hazard.

Automatic transmission shifts hard at approximately 30 mph causing a sudden lurch.It has happened several times. It is such a sudden movement that it feels unsafe as if someone has hit my car from behind. I will be taking my car to the dealer for the first time for this issue today November 30 2021. It has not been inspected yet by anyone. There were no warnings prior to it happening. First occurrence in early November 2021

CARVANA tried to drop off this Jeep Cherokee with the air bags exposed on both the drivers side and passenger side. There were also exposed wires on the passenger side. I rejected the vehicle and they put it right back up for sale seconds later. They also are refusing to come pick up the original vehicle that I had swapped for the Cherokee. This is what I sent them: I swapped a Jeep Compass for a Jeep Cherokee (VIN [XXX]). The delivery person [XXX] shows up 11/27/2021 and before he even gets the Cherokee off the truck, he offers me a $100 visa gift card saying the inside is dirty. I open the drivers side door and the air bag is exposed, dirty and wet. [XXX] says I can keep it, just get it fixed at a dealership. I said “NAH”. I go to the passenger side and it’s the same situation, the panel is hanging down and there are exposed wires. I said “nah I’m not keeping this car” and I begin taking pictures of the damages. The delivery dude [XXX] then asks me not to take pictures. I did anyway. Then [XXX] says “well I’m not gone say you rejected it. Imma just leave it as is” to which I said “no it’s rejected. I’m not taking this car I reject it.” I never got in the car, I have ring cameras that recorded it all. He loads it back up and leaves. Fifteen minutes later the car is back for sale on Carvana. I called Carvana to tell them they needed to come pick up their compass because I no longer want to do business with a company that would deliver a vehicle with defective airbags. They give me the complete run around for TWO days saying they can’t just come get the car, contracts have to be filled. The same contract I signed with the compass was the same contract I signed on the Cherokee that was instantly back for sale. How?? I never signed any financing contracts on either car because the mileage was under reported on the contract and I wasn’t about to sign anything with inaccuracies. Recently purchased this vehicle. FM radio volume cuts in and out randomly, and often. Some stations only work some of the time. Sometimes there is a lot of static. These are local stations that I have had no issue with in previous vehicles. AM radio and SiriusXM radio work fine. Only the FM radio seems to be affected. There have been no safety concerns, and the vehicle has not been inspected yet. I have researched this issue, and it seems to be a very common issue with Jeep that needs fixed. If the problem is this common, there should be a recall to have this issue fixed.

There is something wrong with the stop start functionality on this vehicle. I am not sure how it is connected to the car but it causes my car to stop while I am driving literally. I've had this issue since I purchased the car I took it to the dealer to get fixed twice and called the manufacturer three times. I am having the issue again. I advised that dealership as well as jeep that I could get hurt if someone hits me from my car stopping abruptly ( I live in Chicago people drive fast and dangerously ) and they have done nothing to assist me with resolving the issue. but, whatever they keep fixing isn't the problem and I think that this is a violation of the law to have an unsafe vehicle on the road and I believe someone ( either Jeep or the dealership) were aware of the issues before I purchased the car. But , if I trade it in then someone else will just adopt the unsafe car at this point I am not sure what to do but reach out directly to the government but, I don't want to die my life is important to me and I cant just go buy another car I am not wealthy. I also , dont want someone to drive this car and something happens to them.

The contact was renting a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the vehicle stalled. The contact had to pull over, park the vehicle, and restart to correct the failure. The vehicle rental company, Hertz (1319d Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852) was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
