Previously reported that my vehicle was throwing the code for the 40D. I returned today, vehicle vehicle start to slam, jerk. Jeep Cares escalated after dealership tech confirmed active failure. Fuse pulled, but can't really drive my car to avoid damages. Now waiting for them to give dealership approval to order part. I still have the 5,/60 Warranty. It's red tape and leaving me driving a dangerous vehicle or be grounded. I'm now waiting fit the case manager to call dealership. This is very upsetting and I blame Chrysler, but the actual dealership. There are 61k vehicles and no scene of urgency. I'm filing the complaint.

My 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is experiencing an active failure related to open Safety Recall 40D (NHTSA ID 26V290). The dashboard is displaying a persistent "Service 4WD" warning light, and the vehicle's four-wheel-drive system has completely disabled itself. The vehicle is currently trapped operating exclusively in front-wheel drive. The local dealership has inspected the vehicle but states they are legally blocked from performing a physical repair because manufacturer Stellantis has designated the recall status as "Remedy Under Development." I have filed an official complaint with the manufacturer under Jeep Corporate Case Number 97546678.I am filing this report because the manufacturer cannot provide a timeline for final physical parts, forcing me to operate a compromised vehicle with an active powertrain defect that carries a documented risk of a sudden loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway. I live in the Northeast and purchased this vehicle for its 4wD. I am nervous driving and it feels shady. I waited 3 hrs for a diagnostic test. They speed me the paper with the code, but did not give me the paperwork. I have a year left on my 5yr drive train, they would not discuss and I only have 31.5K miles in the vehicle. Also. With a loss of propulsion, I could be killed or kill someone else. That is the #1safety issue.

During an accident the driver side airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was rammed on the rear passenger wheel area. The impact was significant enough to have the curtain airbags on the passenger side go off, but the only person in the vehicle was myself, the driver.

This came to my attention due to the messages the vehicle gave me, warning if Loss of 4WD capability and a Serv 4 WD light. Jeep has recalled over 61000 other Cherokees for the exact same problem. We are currently waiting for approval to repair from an Extended Warranty Company (Portfolio) which is delaying things, plus the dealership has already said part if backordered, they say approximately 15 days, though no guarantee, and I have heard wait has been much longer in many cases

While coasting/foot off gas transmission will suddenly shift out of gear and a "Shift to Park" message will appear on dash. I must stop and shift to park then back into gear to re-engage the transmission. Driving will proceed normally at that point. This has occured unexpectedly and sporadically over the last year-3+ times. No error code is noted by the Jeep technician. Tech installed new shifter and bezel-seemed to work but then happened again. This is extremely hazardous while in traffic and on freeway (occurred once when coasting when on freeway off-ramp). When looking on-line it appears that there are many incidents of this same or similar issue happening with the 2022 Jeep Cherokee Limited. It is very concerning to note that this is allowed to continue with no issued recall for what appears to be a known safety problem-

My 4WD light came on my dashboard. I took my Jeep to the dealer and they said the PTU was blocked and has an internal mechanical failure. According to websites, this can cause the power train to stop, cause an accident or injury. I don't feel safe driving this vehicle. The dealer informed me that the part is back ordered and will take a year to come available. I live where there is heavy rain and snow weather and the 4 wheel drive feature is not working. This is not good for driving in these conditions.
