Hyundai Elantra electrical problems

I have had to get the horn replaced on my ELANTRA six times the horn goes out and this can be a very big safety hazard as it has caused people to almost hit me because they didn’t see me and my horn wasn’t working to alert them this needs to be addressed as soon as possible as this could cause someone to lose their life in the wrong instance

The vehicle's horn has completely stop working as of [XXX]. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership because the Hyundai dealerships did not have any available appointments at the time. The Toyota dealership in Ardmore looked at the vehicle to see if there were any issues with fuses and wires. They were unable to find any issues. The dealership recommended I contact Hyundai. I then arranged for an appointment from Hyundai. Several days before the appointment, I was contacted by Conicelli Hyundai. They told me they are not taking any new bookings. I put a bad review on Conicelli's google review. I received a message from Conicelli's customer service department askimg me to call back. I called them back and was told that the service manager will call me back. The service manager called back and I explained that the horn is not working. The service manager told me that they just replaced a horn on someone elses car. He also related that the item is on back order. When I did some google searches for horn issues, I began to see that this is a national problem with their horn failures on various vehicles among different years. I have not driven the car since the horn failure. I believe the horn is on back order because Hyundai is having so many problems with their horn. This is with regard to recall 23V651000 which has been active since 9/22/23 and the statement on your website: "If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner...file an online complaint with NHTSA." It's been over four months and there's no remedy in sight. I don't consider that timely, particularly since we've been told to park the vehicle outside. In our upper-Midwest environment, that renders our garage worthless in the winter--we're likely to have to scrape the ice off of the windows every morning before using the vehicle.

Due to the nature of the manufacturer's recall; (Hyundai Elantra 2013- Manufacturer Recall Number 251 "URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED" & NHTSA Recall Number 23V651000) that has been issued to my car, I am now at risk and in danger, both physically and financially. This recall notice has made me aware that I can no longer park my car safely in my garage, nor in my driveway, without putting myself, my family and all neighbors residing in the surrounding houses at risk of causing a residual house fire. In addition, I fear for the safety of all innocent bystanders while driving this vehicle where other cars are present due to the fact that this potentially immanent electrical shortage may occur while parked or driving on the street. Since this issue has caused me to take these measures to protect myself and others, I have come to the realization that I must now look into selling and replacing my beloved car, however as stated above, the urgent recall notice that now exists on this vehicle will make it impossible to obtain a fair asking price from any potential buyers, leaving me unable to compensate for the financial investments I've made in regards to purchasing and maintaining this vehicle over the years. This issue now deems my car essentially worthless in its current state, and with no remedy available, I'm unable to sell this vehicle for any sum that's close to the fair market value that I deserve. Thus far, I have been fortunate enough to not experience any malfunctions that have led to a fire, BUT with a remedy not being available to solve this issue I'm left with the constant stress & fear that I may cause harm to myself or others by simply going about my daily tasks, and have no way to financially recover from the necessary purchase of a substitute vehicle that is required for me to get to work, tend to my family, and ultimately pay my bills. I hope I have made you aware how crucial it is this gets resolved promptly before substantial harm does come to me.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the alternator was prematurely replaced due to an electrical overcharge. The contact stated that the ABS warning light illuminated intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle responded with delay. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the ABS system. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for vehicle rental assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 316,000.
