IT SEEMS IT IS A QUALITY ISSUE SINCE I SAW A LOT OF SIMILAR STEERING COMPLAINS FOR THIS MODEL AND YEAR. *TR

NOTICED A WHINING SOUND WHILE DRIVING COMMONLY ASSOCIATED WITH POWER STEERING CONTROL PUMP PROBLEMS. ALSO NOTICED FLUID LEAK SPOTS ON MY GARAGE FLOOR WHEN PROBLEM FIRST STARTED. WE TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT & WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS CORRODED AS WELL AS THE "TRANSMISSION" HOSE HAD RUSTED. WE FOUND IT VERY UNUSUAL THAT A POWER STEERING HOSE WOULD CORRODE GIVEN THE FACT THAT WE BOUGHT THE HONDA NEW AND IT HAD BEEN RECENTLY SERVICED AND INSPECTED AT THE COST OF OVER $500.00 LAST YEAR. THE HONDA DEALER FOUND LEAKING POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE AND ALSO REPLACED THE COOLER LINE WHICH WAS TOO RUSTED. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $762.46!! WE DON'T KNOW IF HONDA USED INFERIOR QUALITY HOSES BUT IT SURE SEEMS LIKE IT BECAUSE I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE MY POWER STEERING HOSE FOR MY 1994 TOYOTA PICKUP TRUCK & HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM REMOTELY RELATED TO "CORROSION" OR "RUSTING" ACCORDING TO THE HONDA TECHNICIAN'S SERVICE REPORT. WE WERE ONE OF THOSE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DOOR ACTUATOR WHICH WILL BE REPAIRED UNDER A RECENT RECALL NOTICE WE RECEIVED LAST WEEK. THIS WOULD HAVE COST US $250.00 TO HAVE THE ACTUATOR PROBLEM FIXED IF WE HADN'T BEEN NOTIFIED!! *JS

ALSO, THE DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK WHEN I GOT BELOW 10MPH AND MAKE A HUGE CLICKING SOUND. I CAN NOT DRIVE ONE OF MY NEPHEWS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TO AVOID SAFETY CONCERNS, EVERY NIGHT WHEN I LOCK MY CAR, THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCKED OR LOCKED....DEPENDING ON IT'S MOOD. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS HUGE SAFETY RISK AND THAT THIS IS TYPICAL OF HONDA AND ITS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IF I WANT HONDA TO FIX THE PROBLEM, IT WILL COST OVER $700 FOR A PROBLEM CAUSED BY HONDA. I HAVE READ ONLINE HUNDREDS OF OTHER 2007 HONDA CR-V OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME LOCK ACTUATOR ISSUE AND FEEL THEIR SAFETY IS AT RISK FOR THEIR PASSENGERS AND FOR THE CAR IN GENERAL. I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER DOOR BUT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL THE PASSENGER DOOR AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A REIMBURSEMENT. I DO HOME WHEN THEY FIX MY DRIVER DOOR THAT WORKS THEY WILL FIX THE WINDOW THAT SHAKES IF I LET IN HALT WAY DOWN. *TR

SEVERAL YEARS AGO OUR FRONT PASSENGER AND ONE OF THE REAR DOORS WOULD NOT REMAIN UNLOCKED OR LOCKED, DEPENDING ON THEIR MOOD. NOR COULD WE UNLOCK THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. WE HAD TO GET SOMETHING FIXED - THE LOCK ACTUATOR I BELIEVE IT IS CALLED. A FEW MONTHS BACK, SEP/OCT 2014, OUR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT REMAIN UNLOCKED FOR MORE THAN TWO SECONDS, THOUGH WE COULD LOCK/UNLOCK FROM THE FOB OR THE PASSENGER OR DRIVER SIDE LOCK CONTROLS. SINCE DECEMBER, WE CAN NOT EVEN USE THE OUTSIDE KEY LOCK, AND CAN ONLY UNLOCK THE CAR FROM THE FOB, AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR STILL WILL NOT REMAIN UNLOCKED. NOW I HEAR THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH OUR 2007 CRV. BEFORE I BRING MY CAR IN FOR EXPENSIVE REPAIRS ON SOMETHING HONDA GOT WRONG, I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT. AS THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM.. CAN NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR TO GET OUT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, AND COULD NOT GET INTO THE CAR IF OUR FOB FAILS, WHICH I HEAR ALSO HAPPENS, HONDA SHOULD FIX THIS. *TR

HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2010 ACCORD, 2007-2010 CR-V, AND 2005-2008 ELEMENT PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1, 2004, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 3, 2010. THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. ENGINE STALL AND UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF A ROLLING VEHICLE.
Remedy: HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL UPDATE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 27, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.
