The power steering completely went out completely randomly but the power steering fluid is full. Two weeks ago I had my fuel pump recalled and now I have these issues. Valley Hi Honda in Victorville CA has not returned my calls and has been absolutely no help. If I had been driving there would be a good chance I would have crashed as I would have been unable to navigate a turn.

I took my 2019 Honda Civic into the dealership because I got a warning signal that says, collision mitigation system problem. The dealership says it needs a part that is back ordered and told me I could drive vehicle until part comes in. It has been several weeks. I am not comfortable driving my vehicle with this warning light on plus whatever they did since I assume this is a vital safety component/system. Also0, I have no cruise which makes long trips uncomfortable.

There have been 3 times that this has happened. The first time I was driving and no car was in front of me. There was a car parked off to the side and my car sensored the car off to the side and the emergency braking system came on. My car slammed on the brakes automatically and I was going 45 mph and the seat belts locked up, while my car dived forward. I had to slam on the gas to avoid someone rear ending me behind me on a busy road. The other two times this happened occurred within 2 days of each other. The first was in broad daylight and my car sensored a shadow on the road, setting off the emergency braking system, making my car automatically brake and locking up the seat belts again. I was going 65 mph on this road as it was an interstate. I had to also slam on the gas to avoid an accident. The third time was 2 days later driving at night with no one around me, and I was on an exit 3 minutes away from my apartment. I’m not sure what set off the emergency braking system this time, as I didn’t see a shadow since it was dark out, but once again, it came on, locking up the seat belts. This time I was going 35 mph. I’m lucky each time I was able to get out of it and avoided an accident but I am truly scared to drive my car as this happens out of the blue when the cruise is not on or whether the cruise control is on.

Safety was at risk because in March 2020, the car stopped itself on North Carolina route 70 in the middle of traffic without warning and without cause/reason. 3. Dealership inspected the system on April 1st, 2021 and found no issue. They told me to manually turn off the system every time I start the car. 4. No, the car was not inspected for the ABS by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or anyone else. 5.No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were on. The vehicle's automatic braking function activates for no reason. Should only function if it detects objects in it's path which driver not reacting to. It has happened multiple times at both freeway speed as well as city speed. Mostly happens quick, applying slight brake with "brake" light illuminating on dash then quits. Scared it will apply full braking at some point. I know you are claiming occurs on Accords and CR-V but mine being a Civic it is happening to me also. Please address this and require Honda to fix this FAST!

MOST RECENTLY, DRIVING ALONG ON A SUNNY DAY AT ABOUT 45 MPH ON A FLAT ROAD. NO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD IN SIGHT. THE COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM BEEPED AND FLASHED THE WARNING ON THE DASH. AT THE SAME TIME THE SYSTEM ENGAGED THE BRAKES MOMENTARILY BEFORE DISENGAGING. THE BRAKING LOWERED MY SPEED TO ABOUT 30-35 MPH. THE ONLY CONCLUSION I COULD REACH WAS THAT THE SYSTEM MISTOOK THE SHADOW OF A TREE FOR AN OBJECT BUT I HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WHEN TAKING AN EXIT RAMP FROM A HIGHWAY WHEN THE COLLISION WARNING FLASHED AND THE SYSTEM ENGAGED THE BRAKES MOMENTARILY, DROPPING MY SPEED SOMEWHAT, BEFORE DISENGAGING. IN BOTH CASES, I DO NOT KNOW WHY THE SYSTEM DISENGAGED, THOUGH I AM GLAD IT DID AS OTHER VEHICLES APPROACHED FROM BEHIND SOON AFTER.
