2019 Honda Civic

I am filing a safety complaint regarding an unresolved fuel pump recall on my 2019 Honda Civic. My vehicle became inoperable around October 2025 after passing Pennsylvania state inspection in July 2025. The vehicle is currently not drivable and remains inoperable. A VIN-based recall check confirms an active, unrepaired safety recall related to the fuel pump module (2016–2021 Honda Civic fuel pump impeller defect). This recall warns of potential engine stall or failure to start, increasing crash risk. Despite multiple attempts to schedule repair through Honda MotorWorld and Honda customer service, the recall repair has not been completed. I have contacted both the dealership and Honda corporate through multiple case numbers and written communication. However, repair has not been provided and access to service has been repeatedly delayed or conditioned on phone-only communication, despite my use of written/email communication being accepted in other parts of the case process. As of today, the safety recall remains open and unrepaired, and the vehicle remains inoperable. I am requesting: Investigation into why the open fuel pump safety recall has not been completed Assistance in ensuring the manufacturer provides the required recall remedy Confirmation of appropriate steps to complete recall repair given vehicle inoperability

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving around a curve and driving at high speeds, the steering wheel was pulling in the other direction that the contact was attempting to drive. The vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was hesitating while driving. The lane assist, lane keep assist, traction control, TPMS, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

I brought my car to the dealership Honda North at 382 Newbury Street in Danvers MA on 6/5/25 to repair NHTSA Recall number 23V-858. The vehicle was returned to me on 6/7/25 at which time I was told the interior would have a strong fuel smell for 1-2 days, but that would disappear. After 4 days, the fuel smell worsened and the "Check Engine" light had come on. On 6/11/25 I returned the vehicle to Honda North. When I picked up the vehicle several days later, the fuel odor was minimal, and the check engine light was off. Today [XXX], the check engine light is back on. I plan to call Honda North to schedule what will be my 3rd visit to Honda North for this safety recall repair, which clearly is not being repaired properly, and putting me in further danger of crash or injury. While driving the dash showed a "12 volt battery charging system problem." Continued to drive to a safe location roughly a mile down the road and while enroute all the error lights illuminated and proceeded to state "Tire Pressure Monitor Problem" "Brake System Problem" "Brake Hold System Problem" "Power Steering Problem" and a couple others I don't recall. I lost my power steering while driving and my wipers proceeded to stop working, in a downpour. Contacted AAA who came and ran diagnostics which showed the alternator was dead. I then had to have my vehicle towed instead of driving it to work.

Okay guys this is a HUGE problem with not only the civic si but any motor car equipped with a 1.5t engine (accord, Honda, crv) . My car is bone stock and I’m casually accelerating onto highway followed by abrupt misfireing( I believe and completely out of nowhere) and all of a sudden my engine completely explodes! Literally engine parts on the highway and my car has next to now power and I barely was able to pull over to the side without completely smoking out the highway!! My car is bone stock never modified so we get it towed to mechanic and he says headgasket failed, which in turned destroyed the engine?! I do a little research and see 100s of videos of blown up 1.5t Honda cars with blown head gaskets! It’s obviously a huge problem but I guess Honda doesn’t care right? Please please if you don’t think this is gonna happen again to someone you gotta be ignorant ask Honda techs if they’re noticing blown headgaskets they’ll tell you they do sometimes 4-5 headgaskets a week on the Honda 1.5turbo engine. Or YouTube I’m not joking and this is a huge problem!

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle shuddered while coming to a complete stop. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the sparks plugs and two ignition coil packs were replaced; however, the vehicle was not operating as needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer and several unknown dealers were contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I am not sur what is causing all of the lights coming on dash as well as all safety features being lost when driving the car. Right now it is but the light and warnings may cut off. Cr stalls at times. Hose keeps coming off the turbo causing the car no to accelerate in traffic. Yes, without any of the features working my safety and others safety is at risk Yes, The vehicle has been in the shop four times in 1 month for the same issue they say its fixed but the lights keep coming back on and I keep losing all safety features in the car. This is an on going issue 7/31 had car serviced for issue 8/10 light back on, hose loose again, 8/12 lights on again. 9/7 light back on have to take car to shop again. This is the 4th time.
