On April 5th, 2025 I was driving about 20-30 mph and braking down a slight hill. When I went to accelerate up the other side of the hill the vehicle would not accelerate while pushing on the throttle. There were no check engine lights or errors while the vehicle would not accelerate. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. Upon restarting the vehicle it appeared to function normally and continued driving for about an hour home. I have not reported the incident to Ford or the dealer.

When out of nowhere my cruise control was automatically canceled, and I lost all power to my acceleration pedal. I would push down and would get no response from the engine. I had to slowly drift my car to the shoulder of the road to come to a stop. Luckily the power was still going to the brakes. I turned off my vehicle and turned it back on. After that the acceleration started working again. My vehicle only has 8600 miles.

Opened Aug 24, 2026 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Service Brakes

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) received a petition on July 20, 2026, which was dated July 7, 2026, requesting a defect investigation into the intermittent loss of braking on Model Year (MY) 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles.
