VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FAILED TRACK BAR BALL JOINTS, TRACK BAR BUSHINGS AND EXCESSIVE SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT. FRONT AXLE DUST SEALS WERE FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TO DIAGNOSE LOOSE STEERING ISSUE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FAILED TRACK BAR BALL JOINTS, TRACK BAR BUSHINGS AND EXCESSIVE SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT. FRONT AXLE DUST SEALS WERE FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. STEERING GEAR BOX WAS DETERMINED TO BE FAILING AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. PARTS FOR THE GEAR BOX WERE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER WITH 120 DAY TIME FRAME FOR DELIVERY. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE COMBINED EFFECT OF THE FAILURES WOULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT IF AT HIGHWAY SPEED. TOTAL COST IS IN EXCESS OF $2,300.00 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN USED AS A ROUTINE DRIVER. BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF POSTS FOR THIS TYPICAL ISSUE A NATIONAL RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. *TR
