CAR WAS PARKED DURING INCIDENT. FOUND BACK GLASS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. IT APPEARS TO HAVE SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED AS THE TRIM WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 FT AWAY FROM THE CAR AND ANY LOOSE GLASS WAS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR ONLY. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY IMPACT OR VANDALISM. CONTACTED VW SERVICE DEPT WHO STATES THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING AND INDICATED NO RECALLS OR SERVICE BULLETINS. WHEN LOOKING ONLINE THERE WAS IN FACT SEVERAL REPORTS OF VW SPONTANEOUS EXPLODED REAR GLASS AND EVEN MORE REPORTS OF EXPLODING SUN ROOFS. THANKFUL I WAS NOT DRIVING AT THE TIME HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF IS NOT ATTRIBUTED TO A REPORTED VW PROBLEM, COSTING ME $750 TO GET REPAIRED. *TR
