My daughter was driving on the freeway to work around 5am when her sunroof burst onto thousands of pieces. She stated "it sound like a massive explosion and scared her causing her to swerve her car." Thank God it was early in the morning, on a weekend, and with minimal traffic on the road. She was able to pull over safely, and call me. We have now been dealing with the insurance company that tells us the glass is covered, but safelite tells us they are unable to repair it. The volkswagen dealership told us their are 2 windows in the US inventory, but not able too locate them. The cost to repair is estimated $2,400. The dealership said this is a very common issue with the sunroofs to burst like this. My daughter's 2007 eos has less than 100,000 miles on it. Insurance won't total it as nothing is wrong to do so, and other than this window there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. She can not drive it due to the safety risks of her head being exposed id wrecked, and the car at risk of theft. Please if this happens all the time then why are they not held responsible to replace it? It's just like the leaks on the arms of the hard top that volkswagenis definitelyaware of, and does nothing about. Maybe the un recalled seals that leak in the roof have something to do with the well known sunroof issues, and strings that dry rot out from getting wet. We have replaced the whole string kit and both arms with seals to the roof already. The dealership Larry Miller Volkswagen said these should be recalled due to as many as they have replaced over the years. Please help us. My daughter loves her car.

I have contacted vw and brought vehicle in for airbag module light. Code 01218 due to passenger seat airbag. Was told it wasn’t repairable. Isn’t this a safety issue? I thought all airbags were covered under the life of the vehicle?

TOOK VEHICLE IN TODAY TO TRACY VOLKSWAGEN IN TRACY CALIFORNIA TO FIX MY AIRBAG LIGHT THAT CAME ON FOR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AIRBAG. THEY SAID THERE WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE CAUSE VOLKSWAGEN DISCONTINUED THE PART. SO THEY SAID TO ME THAT ECS TUNING HAS THE PART AVAILABLE AND THEY COULD INSTALL IT FOR $537 EXTRA. I THOUGHT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS SUPPOSE TO BE FREE OF ERRORS FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE SO WHY DO I PUT MYSELF AND OCCUPANTS IN DANGER DRIVING WITH A MALFUNCTIONING MANUFACTURE PART? I HOPE THERE IS SOME REMEDY FOR THIS AND I AM NOT PAYING ALMOST ANOTHER $1000 FOR THIS LIGHT TO BE TURNED OFF. HOPE VOLKSWAGEN GETS THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND MIND THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY OF THEIR VEHICLES. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! HOPE THIS GETS TO VOLKSWAGEN AND NHTSA DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

WHEN MY DAUGHTER & I WENT & LOOKED AT IT I LOOKED TO SEE IF IT HAD EVER BEEN WRECKED IT HAD NO REPORT OF THAT. THE PERSON THAT SOLD IT TO ME SAID THE CONVERTIBLE DIDN'T GO DOWN BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE THE KEY, I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT HAD 33 COMPLAINTS FILED ON IT, AND IT WOULD BE LEAKING WATER FILLING THE FLOOR BOARDS 2-3"EVERY TIME IT STORMED. I ALSO DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE PERSON THAT BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW WAS HIT BY A ICE TRUCK WHO ROLLED OVER THE TOP OVER IT, NOR DID I KNOW THAT THE NEXT PERSON THAT BOUGHT THE CAR HAD THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BLOW OFF ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60 MPH DOWN THE ROAD SO HER MECHANIC JUST GLUED IT CLOSED, NOR DID I THE PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID IT HAD ONE OWNER AND IT RAN REALLY GREAT, I EXPRESSED I HAD TO BUY TWO CARS & COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY JUNK OR SOMETHING UNRELIABLE, NOW MY DAUGHTER IS READY TO GO OUT OF STATE TO COLLEGE & WE CAN'T EVEN SELL THE CAR BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST THE CAR. WE CAN'T AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED AND HAD NEVER BEEN SOLD TO US AS A DECENT RUNNING CAR AS IS. THIS CAR IS LITERALLY FALLS BEYOND THE LEMON LAW IT IS DANGEROUS, AND I FEEL WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF IN THIS SITUATION. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. BUT I AM IN NO POSITION TO FINANCE ANOTHER CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER, THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF COMMISSION

MY AIR BAG LITE IS ON, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY WANTED ME TO PAY FOR A AIR BAG REPLACEMENT WHICH IS OVER $1000. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL SINCE I KNEW OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD NONE THAT THEY KNEW OF, SO I STATED I WOULD WAIT FOR ONE (RECALL), SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE THE FUNDS. THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CONCERN, WITH THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. THE OTHER PERSON WHO HAD THE SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEM CHOOSE TO BORROW THE MONEY FOR HER REPAIR. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN ON A FIXED INCOME. AS A SAFETY ISSUE THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. ALSO SHE STATED SHE KNEW SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, IT APPARANTLY MUST BE A PROBLEM, SO FAR FROM A SHORT CONVERSATION WITH ONE PERSON THAT WAS THREE CARS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THAT I KNOW OF, IT MUST BE OTHERS??
