The vehicle has experienced intermittent loss of power/acceleration when taking off from a stop. When the accelerator pedal is pressed, the vehicle sometimes does not accelerate normally or has substantially reduced power. This creates a safety concern because the vehicle may not accelerate as expected when entering or crossing traffic or in other situations where predictable acceleration is necessary. This has been happening off and on for several month. Around the same time, the vehicle's fuel economy decreased significantly. The vehicle had previously averaged approximately 37 MPG and is now averaging approximately 22–25 MPG under generally similar driving conditions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Toyota dealership for inspection. The dealership was unable to identify a mechanical problem and reset the vehicle's computers. I was told the reduced fuel economy could be related to the computers relearning my driving habits. After the vehicle was returned to me, the loss-of-power/acceleration condition occurred again, so the issue remains unresolved. There have been no warning lights or dashboard messages associated with the loss of power. The specific component or cause of the malfunction is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for further inspection. Toyota corporate has also been notified and has opened a case regarding the unresolved condition.

There is an interior design defect on the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross XSE regarding sharp, overlapping hard plastic edges located directly underneath the steering column and lower dashboard assembly. The clearance in this specific area is too narrow for normal vehicle ingress and egress. As a result, the driver's knees repeatedly strike and scrape against this sharp plastic seam when getting in and out of the vehicle. This has caused multiple bodily injuries within two months of ownership: a recent open skin abrasion with bleeding on the right knee, and a dark scar from a previous injury two weeks ago on the left knee. This recurring injury hazard poses a safety and ergonomic risk to drivers.

I was driving on my way into work on highway 169 Northbound going 65 mph in the left lane with nobody in the front of me, and nobody to the right of me, and head a loud popping noise, turns out that my windshield cracked. It started as a 6"-8" crack, and then it grew across the entire windshield over a couple of days. The crack is on the inside of the car, not on the outside, which means that it does not have an impact point on it. A crack to suddenly appear with a loud pop is a stress fracture. To have a windshield spontaneously crack while driving is extremely concerning. I brought the car into Burnsville Toyota Service Center, who denied warranty work when the car never moved from the spot, as confirmed with my Toyota App as it updates when the car was last moved. I argued with them by showing photos, pointing out that the crack was on the inside of the windshield, and spoke with the Toyota Customer Service Line, who told me to try a different dealership. When I brought my car to Bloomington Toyota, they said that they would not do anything as they "didn't have any skin in the game since I didn't buy it from them." Ultimately, I had my windshield replaced by Safelite, who confirmed with three separate techs that the windshield cracked on the inside, and did not have an impact point. Furthermore, my fiance stopped by Burnsville Toyota, and they tried to claim that they brought my car to a nearby LaMettry's to confirm it had an impact point, none of which was communicated to me in the several emails I sent, but my car also never moved from the parking spot in the two weeks it was at their service center. I also have an account with the Burnsville LaMettry's, who also do not have records of that happening.
