2018 Toyota Camry

I got a recall notice earlier in January 2022. On January 16, 2022 as I am driving to work a message appeared on my dash saying Low Braking power Stop in a safe place see owners manual. I haven't driven my car since and I keep contacting the local dealership since it happened and they keep telling me the remedy suppose to be in February and still nothing. It is now March and still no remedy for this. I am getting a little frustrated because I am not able to drive my car. My husband and I are sharing a vehicle but it is sometimes difficult. Please please let me know when a remedy will be available. I am hoping really soon. I am paying monthly for a car that I can't even drive for a couple of months now. The notice in the attachment picture came on the dash on January 15 while she was driving to work. Consumer haven’t driven her car since.

The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The contact stated that the brake and parking warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, a yellow triangle was displayed with a warning of "Potential of Low Brakes - Get to A Safe Stop”. The contact was able to safely return to his residence and had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V890000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part not being available. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000. Abrupt activation of brakes: new vehicle to present. When first backing out of garage or parking spot, at a slow-creeping speed, without use of throttle pedal, attempting to control backward motion with light brake pedal the vehicle's brakes will abruptly active fully halting rearward motion. Further rearward motion requires driver to completely remove foot from brake pedal but any attempt to control rearward speed by feathering brake pedal often causes a repeat of the abrupt brake activation. This cycle repeats the full length of the vehicle within the garage and the length of the driveway to the street , additionally 5 to 6 times the vehicle length. The problem manifests after a lengthy parking, in both forward and reverse directions. There is often an accompanying discernible mechanical actuator sound coming from the engine compartment that I associate as a Trigger to expect the abrupt braking. The obstacle warning may alarm in the garage but acknowledging it with OK does not effect the abrupt braking cycle which continues the length of the driveway, clear of any obstructions. To be clear, this problem occurs at very slow speeds, about 2 miles per hour. I have been told by the dealership mechanic that the brakes are designed to operate as conventional hydraulic brakes below 5 mph; this of course doesn't explain the actuator noise emanating from under the hood. Once the vehicle has been on the road, the brake's performance improves with only a slight tendency to grab when coming to a stop; It's cause to celebrate when the driver can successively make 5 smooth stops. This problem was experienced by 5 separate drivers, each of whom directly expressed dis-satisfaction. Possibly related to the abrupt braking described above is the sudden activation of the brakes and BRAKE warning in what would otherwise be a controlled stop behind a stopped vehicle at a red traffic light. There an association with: vehicle size -color- brake lite position/intensity.

Since I brought this car at dealer shop June 1 2021 and I’m about a month went to repair vacuum pump which paid to the mechanic after that check engine light came out little by little start to have more problem until October 1st 2021 stop working doesn’t run no more couldn’t do nothing at all it does start but doesn’t run when the car is Lyft up the wheel kinda runs little bit but putting on D and wheel goes reverse and putting on R the wheel doesn’t run nothing at all. Spoke with dealer shop manger all he say don’t call me here no more hung up. I tow car to toyota dealer all they say is seven grand to have transmission fix which its not transmission at all the scanner says transmission pass please help me now my car is been repo and because I didn’t pay payment for what because car is not working and running I don’t have money or job without car my life is done I need this car back asap please

All of the warning notifications keep going off. I have been to the dealership 3 times paid for a battery replacement and battery terminal replacement. I was quoted a ridiculous rate for a engine wiring harness replacement, I had to get that replaced by a certified technician but the car is still doing the same thing. I am starting to feel like I was sold a lemon.

We have owned this vehicle since new. Fuel leaks out of the fuel cap when the car is parked overnight. It doesn't matter if the Fuel tank is full or not. When I push the fuel door release button in the car I can hear fuel flowing back to the tank. The leak does not always happen. But it has been happening for at least 2 years. I discussed this with the Toyota dealer and they said it would be $140.00 an hour to look at it. I feel that the fuel pipe and fuel cap are both emission items and should be covered. I also feel this is a possible fire hazard if it starts to leak worse. I have noticed several other people posting this identical problem on line, so I am not imagining things. Its easy for you or Toyota to say take it too your dealer. The way things are going today with shortages of parts and lack of personnel I am nervous about multiple dealer visits before the problems as found
