MOTHER SUFFERED FROM COSTOCHONDRITIS AS A RESULT OF THE EMERGENCY LOCKING RETRACTOR IN 2004 TOYOTA SCION XB NOT LOCKING WHEN VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. THIS CAUSED HER CHEST TO STRIKE THE STEERING WHEEL, INJURING THE RIBS AND CARTILAGE ON THE FRONT OF THE CHEST. *TR

MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING HER 2004 TOYOTA SCION XB ON HER WAY TO CHURCH. TURNED ONTO BATON CHAPEL RD. TRAVELING AT 40 MPH, STARTED SLOWING DOWN DUE TO THE FACT THAT SHE WAS APPROACHING A LIGHT WHERE SHE WOULD HAVE MADE HER TURN, AND ENDED UP REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HE. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE SEATBELT SHE WAS WEARING AT THE TIME DID NOT HOLD HER BACK. AS A RESULT SHE ENDED UP HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUFFERING FROM COSTOCHONDRITIS/ CHEST TRAUMA WHICH WAS CONFIRMED BY EMERGENCY STAFF ONCE SHE ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL. *TR
