TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 TOYOTA SCION XB. A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BEGAN TO SHRED AND THE THREADS SEPARATED ONE BY ONE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A FIVE YEAR/60,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE SEAT BELT; HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE SEAT BELT. THE FAILURE WOULD COST $200 PLUS $150 PER HOUR IN LABOR. MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING HER 2004 TOYOTA SCION XB ON HER WAY TO CHURCH. TURNED ONTO BATON CHAPEL RD. TRAVELING AT 40 MPH, STARTED SLOWING DOWN DUE TO THE FACT THAT SHE WAS APPROACHING A LIGHT WHERE SHE WOULD HAVE MADE HER TURN, AND ENDED UP REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HE. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE SEATBELT SHE WAS WEARING AT THE TIME DID NOT HOLD HER BACK. AS A RESULT SHE ENDED UP HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUFFERING FROM COSTOCHONDRITIS/ CHEST TRAUMA WHICH WAS CONFIRMED BY EMERGENCY STAFF ONCE SHE ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL. *TR
