DEALER CLAIMED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY REPLACE IT IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON. CONSUMER FELT IT SHOULD BE REPLACED DUE TO THE AGE AND MILES ON VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 45-50MPH & AIRBAGS JUST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. CONUSMER WAS NOT INJURED, VEHICLEJUST STEERED OFF THE ROAD. DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS CONSUMER COVERED THE COST. CONSUMER WAS WAITING FOR MANUFACTURER TO CONTACT HER. *AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. CORROSION OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR'S INTERNAL WIRING, WHICH CAN OCCUR OVER TIME, COULD CAUSE THE INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG. THIS DEPLOYMENT COULD OCCUR DURING VEHICLE START-UP, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR IDLING, OR WHILE IN OPERATION.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IF THE CONSUMER IS TOO CLOSE TO AN INFLATING AIR BAG, SERIOUS INJURIES COULD OCCUR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE INFLATORS ON THESE AIR BAGS.
