WINDOWS-DRIVER SIDE POWER ASSISTED WINDOW FAILURE TO GO UP/DOWN, CONTROL WOULD NOT FUNCTION, HAD TO REASSEMBLE WINDOW AND REPLACE MASTER POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT. COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE @ 155,000MI. ALL COMPONENTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. WAS NOT ACTIVLY DRIVING WHEN FAILURE NOTICES. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURY. THROTTLE COMPONENT- TEMPERATURE CENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THROTTLE WOULD SPARATICALLY GIVE OUT, CAUSING A TRAFFIC HAZARD. (I.E. COULD BE ON HIGHWAY DOING 55MPH, CENSOR WOULD MISDETECT ENGINE STATUS CAUSING THROTTLE TO GO DOWN AND SPEED TO INVOLUNTARILY AND DRASTICALLY DECREASE) DRASTIC AND EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTICS AND TESTING REQUIRED TO EVALUATE AND SOLVE PROBLEM. SEATBELTS-POWER-SEATBELT WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF WHEN SEATBELT PROPERLY ENGAGED. CONTACTED DEALER AND WAS TOLD SENSOR MAY BE "STICKY/DIRTY" AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. WAS TOLD TO TRY TO DISASSEMBLE AND CLEAN OUT. DID NOT USE RECOMMENDATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS COULD MAKE THE PROBLEM MUCH WORSE, SO WARNING CONTINUES TO RANDOMLY COMES ON WHEN DRIVING. EXHAUST SYSTEM- COMPLEATLY REPLACED. DEEMED INADEQUATE. CAUSED CARBON MINOXIDE LEAK IN VEHICLE.*AK

THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD MAKE NOISES WHENEVER THE DOOR IS CLOSING OR OPENING. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE ENTIRE MECHANISM TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE WINDOW WORE OUT BECAUSE THE PLASTIC PARTS WERE OF POOR QUALITY. OWNER BELIEVES THAT MAZDA SHOULD PAY FOR REPAIRS FOR THIS DEFECT. *AK

15V674000 · Electrical System:ignition:switch

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 1989-1998 MPV, 1990-1995 323, 1990-1998 Protege, 1992-1993 MX-3, 1993-1995 929, 1993-1997 MX-6, and 1993-1998 626 vehicles. In the affected vehicles, grease applied to the contact points inside the ignition switch may become conductive and overheat.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the ignition switch overheats there would be an increased risk of a fire.

Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch, free of charge. The recall began on December 17, 2015. Owners may contact Mazda Customer Experience Center at 1-800-222-5500, option#6. Mazda's number for this recall is 8715J.
