EVERY OTHER CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN HAD AN OFFSET BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. I CONTACTED MASERATI BUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT EVERY GRANTURISMO IS DESIGNED THIS WAY AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I CONSIDER THIS A VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT THAT COULD EASILY ALLOW INADVERTENT ACTUATION OF THE ACCELERATOR WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE CAUSING CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES.
