IllustrationENTIRE FRONT SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT CAUSING THE RACK AND PINION TO BE DAMAGED. AUTO SHOP SAID HE WOULD NOT DARE HIT A POT HOLE WITH THIS SINCE THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE COULD FALL OUT. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THE JEEP FORUMS.

NOW I GET CLANKING AND CRACKING NOISES WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR AND BELIEVE THE RUSTED OUT ENGINE CRADLE IS THE ISSUE. SEARCHED WEB SITES AND SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE ON OTHER YEARS FOR SIMILAR VEHICLES LIKE THE JEEP COMPASS WHICH SHARES THAT PLATFORM.
