2015 Jaguar Xf

The contact owns a 2015 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for inspection, and the contact was advised that the front driver’s side ball joint on the suspension was cracked and needed to be replaced. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. My vehicle has about 68k miles, I have always serviced the vehicle properly. While driving the car my steering locked up and my vehicle lost all power on a busy road with my children in the car. Luckily we are safe but this is very dangerous. I have had the car inspected by several certified and insured mechanics and the engine pulley broke off of my engine block causing my entire engine and steering to shut down. Every mechanic says this is not normal and should not have happened at this mileage or without a huge impact and they all agree it is a safety hazard especially since the car gave no waring of engine needing to be serviced.

Additionally, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer and was diagnosed that the starter needed to be replaced. The part was not available for the locking system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

I was pulling onto my street and my steering wheel locked. The car was still running and the message said battery not charging. I had never experienced this. I panicked and powered the car off in the middle of the street. I turned it back it i could move forward but the steering wheel was locked. I got the car towed. 3 times because only jaguar can fix the problem. It’s the crankshaft pulley. My issue is my car is a 2015. There was a recall on this part March 2016. It was fixed by the dealership June 2016. I purchased the car January 2017. How is it that this part has gone bad so fast. Also with this part being able to break down out of no where why isn’t some kind of dashboard warning? There was no warning sound no lights or anything. Thank god I made it off the freeway. If this was a know issue in 2016 why not create a warning other than “battery not charging”? Now I face a $2000 repair and could have had a serious accident being broke down in the middle of traffic out of no where.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARETTI JAGUAR LAND ROVER BATON ROUGE (13934 AIRLINE HWY, BATON ROUGE, LA 70817, (225) 756-5247) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE DOOR WINDOW SWITCH, FRONT AND REAR WINDOW SWITCH PACK, AUX TRUNK RELEASE, CRUISE CONTROL, STEERING WHEEL, AIR CONDITION AND RADIO CONTROLS, TRANSMISSION CONTROLS, AND FACIA SWITCH PACK TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED A DISCOUNT FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,753.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 JAGUAR XF ON 290 EAST BOUND IN WORCESTER MA WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BARELY IN BREAK DOWN LANE. IT BROKE DOWN DUE TO OIL LEAKING ON THE ALTERNATOR WHICH CAUSED IT TO FAIL AND THE VEHICLE TO BREAK DOWN. THE OIL LEAK WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY GASKET. I COMPLAINED TO JAGUAR CORPORATE AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH THIS GASKET IS KNOWN TO GO IN THE JAGUARS AND LAND ROVERS. I CALLED AAA AND THEY HAD TO CALL AN OFFICER DO THE LOCATION OF MY VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE A RECALL FOR THIS GASKET. THIS IS ROUGHLY A 2 TO 3 THOUSAND REPAIR DUE TO HALF THE ENGINE HAS TO COME APART. MY FATHER AND I COULD OF GOTTEN KILLED DO THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR A YEAR AND 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE ONLY PUT 13K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE ONLY HAD TO DO THE OIL CHANGE AND REAR BRAKE PADS. THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY DO KNOW WHO WORKED ON IT. I WORK IN SERVICE AT A BMW DEALERSHIP AND MY MANAGER TOLD ME HE WOULD OF GOOD WILLED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD ONLY CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS WORK ON THE VEHICLE. JAGUAR/LAND ROVER SHOULD HAVE THIS EITHER BE A RECALL OR AT LEAST A BULLETIN THE FACT THAT IT CAUSED A PERFECTLY GOOD ALTERNATOR TO GO AND CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO BREAK DOWN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND COULD OF GOTTEN US KILLED IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF SOMETHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS AND SINCE JAGUAR REFUSED TO HELP ME OUT AT ALL. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING BACK. THANK YOU.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JAGUAR XF. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, HIS FOOT EXTENDED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO REV AND LURCH FORWARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAND ROVER MONTEREY (831-899-8800, LOCATED AT 1711 DEL MONTE BLVD, SEASIDE, CA 93955) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. *DT*JB
