I have an ongoing safety concern on my vehicle, seemingly having to do with the brakes or ABS malfunction. There is a delay in the breaking of the vehicle occasionally in specific circumstances. Typically in a parking lot or stop sign, if there is a buckling of the road or potholes or uneven surfaces between the tires, the vehicle will skid over the surfaces and braking is delayed. Events have occurred 8 documented times and a few more during my ownership of the vehicle. Because this typically happens at a stop sign and the car has driven through the stop sign the issue could absolutely cause a multi exhale accident. Because this issue is surface specific, it is difficult to reproduce and the dealership is unable to find the root cause and fix the vehicle. During the two service visits, the dealer has tried to find the issue by doing a diagnostic scan and did a road test on each of the visits as well. In the four months that I’ve owned this vehicle and 10,000 miles that I have driven. This is happened less than a dozen times – most of the incidents are personally documented. No visible warning lights engage when the events have happened. I have contacted Hyundai consumer affairs and am working with them on a resolution of which neither party is sure of at this point. There is an active case number : [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I nearly rear ended a car full of people. It did eventually a stop and the whole thing lasted maybe 10 seconds but it was terrifying. I had it towed to the dealership and they can’t seem to duplicate it.

I have had multiple issues when it comes to braking on uneven roads, going over railroad tracks, and going over speed bumps in parking lots. The vehicle will start shaking erratically and lunge forward into oncoming traffic. No warnings or lights came on either. I have now taken my vehicle in to 3 different dealers to have it inspected and have had the issue replicated several times by a 1 of the dealers. The service manager from the dealer i originally bought the vehicle from refused to even inspect the vehicle and told me the only way they will even look at it was if I brought a video showing the issue of the vehicle lunging forward into oncoming traffic. They also stated that this wasn't a warranty issue and that I would be billed for it. The vehicle is brand brand new 2025 Palisade(2 months old) with 2,000 miles. I was advised to open a case with Hyundai and was then told by the case worker that this is how the vehicle is supposed to operate and there are no issues. After further research to see if anyone else has reported this issue, I found 2 class-action lawsuits filed and over 100 complaints filed with the NHSTA as well. I guess I'm not the only one having this exact issue. This is a serious safety issue and should be addressed.

When driving at a low speed and over an uneven driving surface attempting to brake, the abs system unnecessarily engages and causes the car to lock up and skid instead of braking. This almost caused a car accident where my car would not stop like normal and almost skid into a stationary vehicle with an increased stopping distance until it stopped with a jolt. There is a class action lawsuit on this issue in Ohio and New York.

I just had at least my 6th occurrence with my new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition where, while braking at a slow speed, my abs kicked in and wouldn’t stop my car despite pushing the brake to the floor. Finally it abruptly stopped. In all situations, the road surfaces seemed to be slightly uneven or slightly bumpy. Each time this happened, I was traveling very slow and no faster than 10-15 mph. I’ve had my car for less than 5 months and now has happened at least 6 times. I nearly missed rear ending the vehicle in front of me in all cases because the abs was aggressively pulsating but not stopping until almost hitting the vehicle in front of me.

The brakes on the car almost caused an accident where we would have rear ended the car in front of us. We were in a line of cars exiting a gravel parking lot traveling 5-10 mph. I pressed on the brake pedal as the car in front of us began to brake and our antilock brakes engaged and our car continued to travel forward towards the car in front of us. Luckily the car in front of us pulled out onto the road and we did not hit them. Similar issues have happened a handful of times since buying in March of 2025. I am an experienced driver and am familiar with how antilock brakes work and when they should engage, these instances have not been such cases. It seems it will only be a matter of time until this causes accidents. Another instance was when approaching a stop sign and hitting rumble strips in the road. This improper engaging of antilock brakes can very easily lead to car not stopping in time putting myself, my family, and other vehicles traveling on road at risk. I called the dealer and they said there is no issue and the antilock brakes are acting as they should. I have owned several cars over my lifetime and never had antilock brakes engage in these same instances. Upon investigation online, other drivers are experiencing similar issues and Hyundai is denying the issue. I have an appointment scheduled to get it looked at. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms of the problem. How many people are going to have to report the same issue or how many people are going to have to be hurt before action is taken.

It doesn’t brake on uneven surfaces because of ABS sensor issue. This has been reported by many owners of 2023-2025 Hyundai Palisade.

When driving over railroad tracks or entry gates, the vehicle skids forward in an uncontrollable manner and vehicle is unable to stop when I press on the brake pedal. I have to put the car in “park” to stop the vehicle from rolling into oncoming traffic or colliding into the car in front of me. It appears to be an ABS problem.

It doesn’t look like a recall has been issued, but definitely needs to be.
