While driving the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was pressed but the vehicle failed to respond and did not accelerate, it simply rolled slowly as the engine continued to idle. The driver increased throttle input in an attempt to get the vehicle to accelerate. The vehicle continued to show no response to the additional throttle. After a delay, the vehicle suddenly resumed normal operation while the higher throttle input was still applied. This resulted in an abrupt and undesired surge of power. While this was occurring, another vehicle was rolling forward in preparation for a left turn. The other driver appeared confused by the Palisade’s lack of acceleration (apparently believing it was yielding) and had not yet turned into the path of the Palisade. The sudden surge of power created a near-miss situation. This incident involved a delayed response to throttle input followed by a sudden surge of power under increased throttle when the vehicle resumed normal operation. The behavior created a safety risk by causing another driver to misjudge the vehicle’s intentions and by producing unexpected lack of acceleration followed by acceleration at a critical moment. This is consistent with ongoing intermittent throttle and power-response issues that have previously been reported to the selling dealer on multiple occasions.

After the "9C9" emissions recall update the vehicle randomly fails to respond to appropriately throttle input when attempting to accelerate into traffic. The issue is very intermittent - it may occur twice in 10 minutes or drive fine for hours. It has demonstrated both a "bucking" / stuttering / misfire feeling as well as a complete lack of any throttle response. After a few seconds of bucking, the vehicle returns to normal and accelerates smoothly with no change in throttle input. If the throttle failed to respond, pumping the pedal a few times has resumed normal operation. Situation has occurred multiple times since the update and has allowed the vehicle to roll into traffic without the ability to promptly accelerate to speed creating a safety hazard. There are no warning lights, and the dealership is unable to reproduce the issue.

We had two incidences with in a week. 1. My wife was at a stop light getting ready to go through an intersection when the light turned green she pressed on the gas pedal and the vehicle would not go it just flashed a few codes and a warning came up about a possible condition that occurred. She had to place the vehicle in park shut it off start it up again and put it into drive mode in order to get going again all this while in traffic. We made an appointment with Hyundai of Anchorage but they couldnt find a problem they updated the soft ware and gave the car back to us. 2. The second time it did this was about a week later. My wife went shopping and got into the car to leave, she started the car and put it into gear and it would not move when giving it gas it flashed some more codes at that point she called me. I restarted the vehicle got it moving and when I came to a stoplight with five vehicles ahead of me the light finally turned green vehicles started moving but when I went to move the car would not go and there was a vehicle behind me a ways back that was approaching rather fast. As my wife did before I had to shut the vehicle off restart it and put it in drive in order to go.

On January 12, 2026, the vehicle shut off twice during the same trip while driving in traffic. All dashboard warning lights illuminated, the tachometer spiked, RPM readings did not correspond, the gear selector became unresponsive, and the vehicle lost propulsion while in motion. On February 15, 2026, the vehicle shut off again while driving under similar conditions. The vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for diagnosis. The battery failed a load test and was replaced. According to the repair order narrative, after the battery replacement, the stall condition recurred during dealership testing. Multiple extended road tests and datalogging were later performed. The dealership has stated they are unable to re-replicate the condition and that no active diagnostic codes are present. The vehicle has experienced multiple loss-of-power events while in motion. An intermittent stall while driving presents a significant safety hazard, particularly in traffic conditions. The root cause has not been definitively identified.

I am unsure what exact component malfunctioned but in 5 separate times within the past 2 months, the vehicle has failed to stop at a normal time when pressing the brakes and a loud rumbling occurs. It feels as if I am sliding on ice.Two of the times it occurred on uneven road surfaces, however 3 times I could not identify an issue with the road. They all occured when coming to a stoplight/stop sign or when I had to stop due to a vehicle slowing down or stopping in front of me. In each occurrence I was going under 20 mph. The safety of others could have definitely been impacted as it took a few seconds to actually stop the vehicle more than it should have. Someone could have been walking and crossing the street in front of me. Or if I was too close to the car in front of me it could have hit it. No warning messages appeared on the dashboard prior, but during the occurrence in the last time, I noticed the word "shift" appear. This word could have shown up during the first few times and I could have missed it. On Tuesday September 9th I took it to the dealership and they checked everything out and the vehicle did not produce the same symptoms when they tested it out over the hour I was there. They said they reported the issue but they did not know the reason it was occuring.

My brakes are intermittently disengaging during bumps and potholes. I experience a rattling undercarriage and pedal vibration. Sometimes I must crank the steering wheel to regain braking. This poses an immediate safety risk to myself and others. The service advisor mentioned other customers coming in for the same issue. I have had my car in three times for this issue but they’ve never been able to replicate the issue. It has been an ongoing issue since the inception of the lease but has gotten progressively worse. This is a life-threatening issue.
