We were driving down the road and heard a loud pop and then heard glass falling onto the sunroof sunshade. My sunroom exploded out of nowhere, nobody in front of me, no trees or structures above us. Just spontaneously shattered.

Windshield wipers got crossed in the middle of snowstorm. Drivers side wipers not working properly since. The windshield wipers on my 2022 Palisade are crossing and failing in snow, which is the exact safety defect described in Recall 243. Even though it's listed as closed, the part has failed and it's a safety hazard. Now the cars wipers will not work properly in heavy rain or snow. Reached out to both local dealerships and Hyundai customer care. 1 local dealership refused to take the vehicle. Other local dealership was prepared to charge me to refix despite asking for a goodwill refix. Asked Customer care Hyundai corporate for a goodwill fix override and was not given one upon asking.

However, recently after cold weather, drive side wiper arm was bent inward and passenger side wiper was not working. It is physically impossible for some one to bend wiper arm inwards and provided Hyundai with pictures and Dealer is claiming improper use even when we didn't touch or changed wipers previously. There was a recall previously on this issue but don't remember if my vehicle is part of that recall

To date, the windshield has cracked and required replacement three times. This has happened in August 2023, Sept 2024 & May 2025. The first instance was caused by a small chip resulting from a visible impact. However, the subsequent two replacements occurred without any known cause or visible damage, suggesting a potential defect in the windshield's design or material integrity. This ongoing problem is not only inconvenient and costly, but also raises serious safety concerns. Windshields should not crack spontaneously under normal driving conditions. Is it the quality of the windshield or is this issue part of a larger defect affecting this vehicle model?
The driver side wiper stopped working after heavy snow. The right side under carriage screw came out so it was hanging but eventually got torn off.
Snowing & my drivers side front wiper stopped working. Palssenger side ok. Had to pull over every couple blocks to manually wipe window clear to see to get home. It has been over a week and still does not work.

I was driving along the feeder road entering the on-ramp of the highway, going about 45 mph, when I heard a loud explosion coming from inside my vehicle. I was obviously startled and my first thought was maybe my kids left a soda bottle in the car and the pressure caused the bottle to explode. It was then I noticed broken glass all over the interior of my vehicle, as well as on my person. It was a clear, sunny day, about 75 degrees, so no extreme weather. There were no vehicles ahead of me, behind me or on either side of me. When I got to a stopping point, I searched my vehicle thoroughly thinking something must have come through the glass and shattered it. But I found nothing in my vehicle that would have come from outside and caused this to happen. While taking photos of everything, I noticed the glass that was left appeared to be bowed upwards instead of inward. It was then I realized whatever happened did not come from outside of my vehicle. I started looking things up online and realized the "exploding sunroof" was actually a very common issue happening to many other people's vehicles. Why a recall on this serious safety issue has not been issued is baffling. I could have been in an accident due to the startling nature of the incident, I could have been cut with shards of glass. Thank God my children were not in the car with me at the time as most of the glass went to the back seats where they would have been sitting. Prior to this happening there were no issues with my sunroof and no obvious warning signs of its impending explosion. I truly hope a recall is issued soon before someone is seriously injured, or worse.

I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. The dealership said they knew exactly what the problem was due to so many people having this issue with needing the bolt tightened because it must have worked its way loose. The motor must be too weak and the replacement wiper arm has not remedied the occurrence, leading to some very hazardous situations.

2PE24021 · Inadvertent Seat Belt Unlatch
Opened Aug 7, 2024 · Closed Dec 12, 2025
Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts
On August 7, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE24021 to investigate complaints alleging inadvertent unlatching of seat belts in model year (MY) 2020-2023 Hyundai Palisade vehicles manufactured by Hyundai Motor America. The complaints alleged that, without warning, the seat belts sometimes inadvertently unlatch, increasing the risk of injury due to full loss of seat belt protection in the event of a crash. As a result of information exchanged as part of the investigation, on April 3, 2025, Hyundai initiated a warranty extension policy for seat belt buckles on model year 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. Hyundai subsequently initiated a request for warranty parts returns to support further analysis by the buckle supplier, ZF Lifetec. The warranty extension (reference “Z06”) noted that certain 2020 – 2025 model year Palisade vehicles may experience abnormal seat belt buckle(s) operation. Hyundai extended the warranty coverage for the seat belt buckle under this condition to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use. This action is valid for original and subsequent owners. On September 11, 2025, Hyundai filed recall 25V-607 for certain 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. Hyundai explained in its recall filing that the subject vehicles are equipped with seat belt buckle assemblies in the front row and second row outer seating positions that may contain out-of-specification components manufactured by the supplier. These components can cause interference within the latch channel, potentially increasing friction, particularly under cold ambient temperatures. Improperly produced seat belt buckles, combined with slow insertion of the seat belt tongue plate, may prevent the seat belt buckle from fully latching. The recall remedy is currently under development. In view of Hyundai’s recall action, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation, but will continue to monitor the issue as a remedy is developed and implemented. ODI will take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.

These vehicles were excluded from Recall 22V-627. At the time of opening the RQ, the root cause and recall remedy were still unknown and under investigation. Thus, the RQ was opened to assess the scope and remedy of Recall 22V-627.In its February 10, 2023 response to ODI's information request on the RQ, Hyundai provided 17 customer complaints and 75 warranty claims related to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles. Hyundai stated that the wiper systems in the subject vehicles are equipped with a different wiper motor design than the earlier-built Palisade vehicles included in Recall 22V-627. Hyundai also stated it does not believe there is an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety in the wiper system in subject vehicles. On March 17, 2023, Hyundai filed a new safety recall (NHTSA Recall 23V-180) of 167,085 MY 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles produced from December 1, 2020 to November 22, 2022 when a design change was implemented. The design change, as well as the recall remedy (for both Recalls 22V-627 and 23V-180), is a redesigned driver-side wiper arm that allows for additional snow accumulation between the wiper arm and the cowl, thus reducing the load on the wiper motor and circuit breaker activation. In view of the recall action being taken by Hyundai, ODI is closing this RQ. The agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. The ODI complaints cited above can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following ODI identification numbers:11521365, 11517359, 11512295, 11509965, 11509253, 11508868, 11502146, 11501278, 11497343, 11494119, 11458548, 11450975, 11450045, 11449381, 11443330.
