The driver side wiper stopped functioning during a rain storm. Fortunately, I was not on a major road and was able to navigate. If I had been on the highway, I would have been blinded and potentially in a major accident if not able to pull over expeditiously. This malfunction occurred approximately one year earlier and was corrected by the dealer at that time. I believe some Hyundai Palisades have had a recall for this issue in the past. I am concerned that this has recurred and not been fixed definitively. This issue has potential fatal consequences. I am taking the vehicle to the dealer tomorrow to address the issue. I cannot take it today as it is still raining and I would be placing myself and others at risk.

Driver side windshield wiper has stopped working after encountering snow. The issue was initially intermittent, but now the wiper on the driver's side has stopped working completely. In searching, this is a known issue with other Palisades.

Research indicates KNOWN ISSUE with 2020-2021 Hyundai Palisades - TSB22-SS-001H issued for PART of the problem but no recall. Hyundai clearly knows about it but not issuing needed recall because it is a warranty item, hoping customers don't realize it until out of warranty. Mine still in warranty, 48K miles. Rear- self leveling shocks appear to be the issue along with upper insulator piece. See Forum: [XXX] ) Another KNOWN ISSUE with cracking windshields same model. Mine cracked [XXX] while parked under cover - no apparent cause, Hyundai wanted over 1K to replace - had to use insurance to replace it. The car started very slightly making a clunking noise and it progressively got worse. We've taken it for every scheduled maintenance and didn't know anything was wrong. We asked for it to be specifically checked at our recent oil change and were told it is a unfortunate COMMON issue that HYUNDAI IS AWARE of BUT the warranty ended on that about 6 months ago - something that should've been addressed and resolved, they waited until out of warranty and didn't do anything and now the fix is $1700 (rear struts need to be replaced) car jumps and it will get even worse. Also the wipers turn on when there is no rain but don't turn on when it rains the sensors are messed up

I was driving in a downpour today at approximately 11:30 am at 40mph when the driver side wiper stopped working. This is a verified recall issue which WAS REPAIRED on February 28, 2023. I was able to pull over safely into a parking lot until the weather calmed and then was able to very carefully drive home on side roads.

Two cracks to windshield that started spontaneously from the upper and lower edges of windshield when vehicle was only a few months old. Both cracks immediately lengthened 2.5 to 3 feet within 15 minutes of crack starting. Multiple small chips over past 2 years that have not occurred in our other vehicles that are driven similar routes and distances. It is evident that there is a problem as so many other owners have complained of the same issue . With the ease in which these windshields chip and crack , it is very concerning for safety in that it would likely provide little protection in a crash and it likely does not meet safety standards. Based on the major cracks starting spontaneously on the edges, it could be a problem with the frame/structure as well as lack of strength in the glass. Steps should be taken to correct this issue before serious injuries or fatalities occur.

PE24021 · Inadvertent Seat Belt Unlatch

Opened Aug 7, 2024 · Closed Dec 12, 2025

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts

On August 7, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE24021 to investigate complaints alleging inadvertent unlatching of seat belts in model year (MY) 2020-2023 Hyundai Palisade vehicles manufactured by Hyundai Motor America. The complaints alleged that, without warning, the seat belts sometimes inadvertently unlatch, increasing the risk of injury due to full loss of seat belt protection in the event of a crash. As a result of information exchanged as part of the investigation, on April 3, 2025, Hyundai initiated a warranty extension policy for seat belt buckles on model year 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.  Hyundai subsequently initiated a request for warranty parts returns to support further analysis by the buckle supplier, ZF Lifetec. The warranty extension (reference “Z06”) noted that certain 2020 – 2025 model year Palisade vehicles may experience abnormal seat belt buckle(s) operation.   Hyundai extended the warranty coverage for the seat belt buckle under this condition to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use.  This action is valid for original and subsequent owners. On September 11, 2025, Hyundai filed recall 25V-607 for certain 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles.  Hyundai explained in its recall filing that the subject vehicles are equipped with seat belt buckle assemblies in the front row and second row outer seating positions that may contain out-of-specification components manufactured by the supplier.  These components can cause interference within the latch channel, potentially increasing friction, particularly under cold ambient temperatures. Improperly produced seat belt buckles, combined with slow insertion of the seat belt tongue plate, may prevent the seat belt buckle from fully latching. The recall remedy is currently under development. In view of Hyundai’s recall action, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation, but will continue to monitor the issue as a remedy is developed and implemented. ODI will take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
