Hyundai Elantra electrical problems

On February 17, 2023, my vehicle was broken into and damaged because thieves tried to highjack the car using a now common method of the end of a USB cable in the ignition. The passenger rear window, the steering column, and the key ignition were all damaged, and I had my vehicle towed to a Hyundai dealership. Nearly all 2011-2021 Kia and Hyundai vehicles are made easy to operate without a key, to steal, and to vandalize. This security vulnerability has resulted in Kia and Hyundai owners paying for repairs (even with insurance, owners need to pay the deductible) and higher insurance premiums. Hyundai and Kia did not disclose this defect, which is a material fact, and a fact that a reasonable person would rely on when purchasing a vehicle, consequently making these vehicles easy to steal, unsafe, and worth less than they should be. The service writer at the dealership informed me that it could take 30-45 days to get the parts since this type of vandalism has increased significantly over the last six months. It has become well-known that these thefts are due to security flaws (re: failure to implement standard security measures and install anti-theft devices) in Kia and Hyundai vehicles, leaving them notably susceptible to theft. Kia and Hyundai owners, including myself, are left with limited time use of rental cars during repairs, oftentimes because of the delay in the delivery of parts. This situation also leaves Kia and Hyundai owners with higher insurance rates (or being simply denied of obtaining insurance) because of these vehicles.

Please find below a description of the malfunction in my Hyundai Elantra, as this is the reason I'm requesting inclusion in a recall. Since the week of Thanksgiving 2022, I've had several instances of my vehicle stalling without warning before engaging the transmission; for example, my car once stopped moving completely on the freeway while entering the onramp at 55 mph. Since then, the problem has only gotten worse, stalling up to seven or nine times per week. Because of the severity of this issue, I’ve had it inspected multiple times and would gladly submit it to another one if requested. Obviously, a defect of this magnitude with no obvious cause not only puts me at risk as the driver, as I can’t prepare for a sudden stop, but all road travelers around me are also subject to this issue. As you know, a sudden halt could lead to collusion involving numerous people. To date, an independent service provider has not been able to identify the issue or recreate the problem, as it occurs randomly with no warning lights or signals to prepare me for what’s about to happen. NHTSA Recall Number20V061000 Recall has not been fixed by the local dealer in Ocala Florida. I scheduled to come in and have this addressed and sat in the lobby for hours before being told I would receive a call to come back when the parts were in stock. It has been since September 9, 2021 that I made my appointment to address open recalls.

Hyundai Elantra was stolen for the 2nd time AFTER Hyundai's immobilizer was supposedly installed in the vehicle. Car was parked and locked in a secured employee parking lot with cameras. Rear window was busted out steering column torn down and ignition switch removed. Car was started with a USB. Just like everyone else's. The vehicle was located and is currently at the dealership where they are refusing to do any work because it is a "Branded" title and no longer under any warranty.

Sometimes the car will not start batter is testing good replaced it anyway same for starter and Is Alternator and still happens hyundai dealership said they don't know. Now the car will start to break on its own saying something is there even when in open parking lot by yourself with nothing or any one around. After that started now the trunk will open when driving down the road if you are home and unlock the car the trunk will open 3 times before staying closed and as soon as you pull of up to 3 minutes it will open back up even when doing 70 on the interstate just pops open have took batteries out of key fob and still happens

At any given time without warning the car dies. There is a red light that is sometimes visible on the dash but flashes too quickly and tell which light it may be (due to location of light owner’s manual showing possible oil light/battery). The car has had regular scheduled maintenance. This happens when driving in everyday traffic and sometimes when going from stopped to accelerating. This happens when going in reverse or ahead. I have almost been in several different accidents due to it dying in the middle of intersections. Code reader has not been able to locate the problem because there’s no indication of a problem on the check engine light. This is a very serious problem that needs to be taken seriously before it gets someone badly injured or killed.

Check engine lights keep coming on for ignition coils and engine keeps stalling out. This seems to be a common problem and surprise theres no recall. The engine stalling is very dangerous because of the potential to cause a traffic accident. The problem originally started in August and has continue to happen up to date. I have had close calls for a traffic accidents which is very scary. The mechanic said that the issue was recalled but online says something different. I just want this issue fixed and not just patched.
