TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 HONDA SXS1000 MOTORCYCLE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED, BUT DID NOT MAKE IT IN TIME TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CONTACT CALLED ENGELHART MOTORSPORTS AT 608-274-2366 (LOCATED AT 1589 GREENWAY CROSS, MADISON, WI 53713) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT CALL BACK. THE CONTACT WROTE A LETTER TO THE MANUFACTURER AND RECEIVED A RESPONSE, WHICH STATED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED SINCE THE VEHICLE BURNED COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY THREE UNKNOWN AND UNREPAIRED RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 592.
