2025 Honda CR-V

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in cold weather, the windshield wiper was activated, but the windshield wiper fluid failed to disperse and the windshield wiper failed to engage immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a second dealer, Hamilton Honda (655 US-130, Hamilton Township, NJ 08691); however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact sent a letter to the manufacturer to notify them of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

The component affected is the passenger side mirror. The plastic cap over the mirror spontaneously cracked. It sounded like my CRV was hit by a rock. I looked over and my mirror was folded into the vehicle. The mirror works, it is not cracked and the movement via the driver side buttons works. Upon stopping and looking, the plastic was broken from the bottom around the interior of the cap. Exterior plastic piece was left. I used black duct tape to keep the remaining pieces together. No warning signs. Pieces of plastic flew off the mirror into the roadway where cars were parked and people would be standing. My CRV is going in for an inspection on 4/2/2026.
