2025 Honda CR-V

As I was pulling into a parking space, the car suddenly accelerated, ran through bushes, down a slope across a sidewalk hitting a city utility box. and jumped the curb finally stopping on the street. no other vehicles were involved and no injuries. I did not report at the time of the incident, because I thought I must have done something wrong. However a similar event occurred on May 29, 2026 (See Complaint #11743489) which leads me to believe there may be a defect in the car.

As I was pulling into a parking space inside a parking structure, ground floor, my car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, going through landscape hedge and landing on front hood of a parked vehicle outside of the parking structure. I heard the engine accelerate, but had no way of stopping or controlling the car. A very similar accident took place in this car on [XXX]. Same situation: pulling into a parking space, car suddenly accelerates; no way to stop vehicle in time to avoid accident. On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.

I am reporting a potential safety recall violation by Honda Mall of Georgia (3699 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30519). My vehicle experienced engine noise, vibration, and warning indicators, which the dealership attributed to 'fuel contamination' to deny warranty coverage (attached), and charged approximately $3,392.99 for repairs. However, I have a certified laboratory analysis (attached) from the Georgia Department of Agriculture confirming the fuel met all state quality standards and had no contamination at Costco Gas. Costco also provided supporting document (attached) that there was no contamination and there were no other customers reporting such issue. The vehicle required a second repair (attached) for the engine issue immediately after the first, further proving the failure was not 'bad fuel' related. Despite my state-certified proof, the dealer refuses to provide any documentation for their claim of 'bad fuel.' I believe the dealership has intentionally misdiagnosed a known defect covered under Federal Safety Recall 24V-763 / QK8 (cracked high-pressure fuel pump) to avoid performing a free recall repair.

Date of Accident: April 13, 2026 I drove into our church parking lot and then parked next to my husband’s car and was totally stopped and in the parking space. I thought I had my foot on the brake. After a split second, it accelerated and jumped the curb of the parking space at a very fast speed. I had no control of the car. I sheared off a heavy metal sidewalk railing and was headed for the brick church (church is on a berm above parking lot), but I managed to steer away to miss the church and a large tree. I steered off the berm and into empty parking lot – still traveling at high speed. I finally threw it into neutral to get it to stop because it was continuing toward a busy street with lots of traffic. Neutral stopped it. No air bags deployed. The front and side of the car that hit the metal railing sustained $6,500 damage. Towed it to collision repair. When we asked at the Columbia, MO, Honda dealer’s service department, they said because the air bags didn’t deploy, that it was probably operator’s error and nothing they could do. We didn’t feel that it was operator error and reported to the assistant General Manager of Honda in a personal meeting. We asked to have the Honda field engineer exam the car. Instead, they had their district service supervisor exam the car. Their conclusion: they could find nothing wrong with the car. After reading online reports of almost identical accidents with this model, we decided it was too dangerous to drive and sold it back to the Honda dealer.

My 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was NOT pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. The Honda Service Rep said sense I have no idea when it is going to happen again he cannot set a appointment for me to come in without having a current issue. Because the acceleration is random and because I cannot recreate it at will, the problem has NOT been confirmed by a dealer or service center and the vehicle has not been inspected. The acceleration issue is random and spontaneous with no warning lamps, no messages and no other symptoms prior to. Once it stops it may no happen again for weeks or months. However as mentioned about it has happened at least 4 to 5 times within the past year with the most recent occurrence on March 6th 2026 ----End-----

Vehicle: 2025 Honda CRV HYBRID SPORTS TOURING VIN: [XXX] The vehicle is subject to an active recall involving the high-pressure fuel pump, which may leak fuel and create a fire hazard. Dispute prior dealer inspections, the during cold starts, abnormal ticking/ knocking noise from the high-pressure fuel pump area. The recall repair was not completed, and the defect remain unresolved. I'm concerned about potential fire risk and safety hazard. The repair didn't fix it.
