2025 Honda CR-V

The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, the vehicle later failed to restart. The local dealer was contacted, and Roadside Assistance was provided, and the vehicle was jump-started. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 27,000.

On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.

Vehicle: 2025 Honda CRV HYBRID SPORTS TOURING VIN: [XXX] The vehicle is subject to an active recall involving the high-pressure fuel pump, which may leak fuel and create a fire hazard. Dispute prior dealer inspections, the during cold starts, abnormal ticking/ knocking noise from the high-pressure fuel pump area. The recall repair was not completed, and the defect remain unresolved. I'm concerned about potential fire risk and safety hazard. The repair didn't fix it. I’m driving a Honda CRV 2025. It recently has an electrical issue. It has happened 3 times. Two while starting up the car that I couldn’t start up the car. And one while I was backing off my car on the driveway, the car was suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. When it happened, dashboard lights were flickering randomly, and there was some electric noise on and off. I have brought the car to the dealer for a diagnostic, but they couldn’t reproduce or find any issue. They even said that they have tested and verified that the car was totally safe to drive. That raised me a safety concern if the car suddenly stop when I’m on freeway at high speed.

While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the Coggin collision center, Coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. There were no warning lamps or messages and the airbags did not deploy despite frontal impact. The car is currently at the Honda Collision center and would be available for inspection.

While driving, I used the factory wireless phone charger in my Honda CR-V with an iPhone 15 Pro. The phone was placed directly on the charging pad with no case and Apple CarPlay was in use. During an extended drive, the phone failed to charge beyond approximately 50% and became excessively hot. Charging appeared inconsistent or stopped while heat continued to increase. I am concerned that the wireless charging system may cause overheating that could damage devices or present a potential fire or safety hazard. This occurred during normal, expected use of the vehicle’s built-in equipment.

My 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ) has experienced three separate incidents of a complete loss of power while driving on public roads (on [XXX]), each time requiring towing. The authorized dealership has performed multiple repairs, with the most recent including the replacement of the throttle body. However, this represents the third recurrence of this identical safety-critical failure within 16 months, indicating that the underlying defect has not been fixed. I believe this vehicle has a persistent and dangerous safety defect that poses an ongoing risk to myself and the public. Experienced a sudden unintended acceleration while parking the vehicle. Right front tire climbed up on a parking barrier (shortened telephone pole) and damaged the right front bumper. No warning or trouble lights were on at that time, however, after restarting vehicle and heading home approximately half a mile down the road, all the warning and trouble lights came on, the steering wheel started shaking and the car wasn’t drivable. We have no idea if there is concealed damage underneath the vehicle. We called Honda roadside assistance and they came and took the vehicle to the closest Honda dealership. At this time, we’re waiting to hear from them.

I’m reporting a high-pitched noise issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid. At highway speeds (approximately 68–74 mph), a persistent, high-frequency tone becomes audible from the front driver’s side of the vehicle. It is sharp, constant, and noticeably affected by the vehicle’s battery charge and speed. There are no warning lights, messages, or error indicators. However, the sound is extremely distracting and physically uncomfortable to endure. My wife has a preexisting auditory condition (tinnitus), and this sound makes it extremely difficult to drive or ride in the vehicle without pain or aggravation. It has made the vehicle nearly unusable for her on highways. I’ve brought this to a dealership, where multiple technicians and even a factory engineer inspected the vehicle. They confirmed the presence of the sound using audio measurement tools, and noted that similar sounds are present in other CR-V Hybrids. Despite this, I was told by the manufacturer that the sound is “normal” and that no fix is currently available. This issue has been present since I first took possession of the vehicle. The dealership and manufacturer have confirmed that it exists, but no resolution has been provided. While I may be one of the first people to raise the issue, I believe this may become a much broader concern. A continuous, high-pitched noise at highway speeds could be dangerous—it might distract drivers, cause fatigue, or even lead to long-term hearing discomfort or damage. I am hoping that NHTSA will investigate this issue or track whether other drivers begin reporting similar experiences. I would welcome any guidance on what steps I can take next, or whether further inspection of the vehicle is possible.

Complete electrical failure of all components of the vehicle when the power switch was turned off after parking. Emergency flashers, brake lights, headlight and horn also would not work. I discovered the positive electric cable bracket, on the battery, was broken and held together only by the red plastic cover. The bracket is very thin compared to other vehicle battery cable connections on other cars. It appears that the bracket (with red cover on it) was bumped during vehicle assembly cracking the bracket. The red cover hid the damaged bracket until it broke completely today. If the vehicle does start, it will run normally. When the positive cable loses connection, the vehicle continues to operate normally until it is shut off. Then all systems shut down immediately. Recommend Honda redesign the cable bracket to make it less prone to breakage.
