First incident. 9/20/2025: car went forward when gear shift was in reverse. I had pulled my car into space on a slight incline in a parking garage. The space inclined downward toward a wall. I needed to back my car back a few inches away from the wall. I put my car into Reverse and applied light pressure on the accelerator. The car moved forward. I applied the brake, visually inspected the shift lever to make sure it was in reverse, and applied light acceleration again. Again the car moved forward. I put the car in Park, turned it off, restarted it, and put it into Reverse again, at which point it worked. Second incident, 9/24/2025: car lurched forward when I removed my foot from the accelerator. In a different parking garage, on level ground, I was driving under 7 MPH when I needed to slow down as another car approached from the side. I lifted my foot off the accelerator to slow (but had not applied the brake) and the car lurched forward. I braked, took my foot off the brake, and the car worked normally. These incidents put my car at risk of collision with a wall and another car coming toward me, respectively. The system is available for inspection on request. It has not yet been inspected by anyone, but is scheduled to go to the dealer for inspection. I did not see any messages or warning lamps.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to report a serious safety concern with my 2023 Honda CR-V All-Wheel Drive, regular gasoline version. On three separate occasions while driving at high speed on the highway, my vehicle suddenly lost power and the engine stalled without warning. When this occurred, the starter would not engage, the vehicle had no electrical power, and multiple warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including Emission System Problem and All-Wheel Drive System Problem. This type of sudden stall while driving at highway speed creates an extremely dangerous situation and puts both the driver and other motorists at serious risk. I am aware that Honda has issued fuel pump recalls for the 2023 CR-V Hybrid models. However, my vehicle is the regular gasoline version, and based on my experience, I strongly believe that a similar fuel pump defect exists in these models as well. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect, and that Honda initiates a recall for the regular gasoline CR-V models to address this problem.

On [XXX], at approximately [XXX]. I was traveling down the [XXX] . It was a clear morning and the traffic was light. There were no warning signs or messages displayed prior to the glass shattering. It was startling as I was going 70-75 mph when this happened. While driving my 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport on the morning of [XXX], the sunroof glass exploded. After the dealerships inspection, I was informed that repairs were not covered by warranty or recall. As stated previously it was a clear morning, the traffic was light and there was nothing near me that could have dropped on my roof and shattered my sunroof. I have included pictures for your review. On 9/15/25 at 11:30am I spoke to Honda Corporation customer service. I was informed that at this time there is no open warrantee for this issue. She stated it had been reported to Honda. On Aug 26 Honda NA said that they can’t help me. My car is at Honda CRV Sport Hybrid 2023 with 47,440 miles on it. I’m over the 3 year or 36,000 miles and I do not have an extended warranty. Also on Aug 22, my service advisor said he could get the price down to $5,000. + tax. So I am lost on what to do

The theft occurred despite the vehicle being locked and parked in my parking area. The theft method likely involved bypassing the CAN bus system, a known vulnerability in modern vehicles. Honda later issued a product improvement notice regarding enhanced anti-theft software, which I received(8/26/25) after the incident. This suggests that the manufacturer was aware of the security flaw but did not proactively notify owners or offer preventive upgrades before thefts occurred. I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the reliability of my 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid, which I purchased with approximately 10,000 miles on it. The vehicle currently has around 85,000 miles and has already required major, unexpected repairs — most notably a head gasket failure, in addition to other mechanical issues earlier this year that totaled $2,000 out of pocket. The fact that a relatively new Honda with an excellent service history and primarily highway miles would require a head gasket replacement this early in its lifespan is extremely troubling and calls into question the long-term reliability of the CR-V Hybrid platform. While I appreciate that Honda agreed to cover the head gasket repair through a goodwill arrangement, this situation has caused me considerable stress, financial hardship, and a loss of confidence in the vehicle — and, frankly, in Honda’s reputation for durability. Further compounding this frustration, the vehicle has recently begun exhibiting renewed roughness and vibration at various speeds, despite recent service, and I remain worried that I’m going to be saddled with ongoing problems that I should never have had to deal with on a vehicle this new. As a loyal Honda customer, I expected better. I chose this vehicle specifically for its reputation, fuel efficiency, and dependability. What I’ve experienced instead feels like a breakdown of quality control and corporate accountability. I am now significantly upside down on a vehicle that I can no longer rely on with confidence — yet I cannot afford to walk away from it.

Hood wobbles crazy while driving highway speed as if it is going to open or come out. Seem the outer panel of hood has rust by the joints where it is joined to the inner panel of the hood. Almost all the joints seem to be not joined well together. This is a structural body issue, car is less than 3 years old. And Currently I have about 55K miles on it. Noticed the hood wobble when it had less than 30,000 miles but upon checking under the hood there were no visible signs of defect. But recently(51K mile roughly) after a car wash I opened the hood to see the inside of the car, that's when I noticed that the hood inner joints have rust and are not joint together properly with inner panel of the hood. Reached out to the dealership but they deny to fix this as it has been more than 36000 miles. At the dealership there was another person with 2025 Honda crv, I checked with the owner to let me see if his car had similar issue or not. Upon checking the hood his car's one of the joint was loose ( given that car is less than an year old so there was no rust.) Seems Honda is used some adhesive to stick the metal panels of the hood together which start to deteriorate over time. There are many crv owners who are having similar issue but the dealership resolves the issue for them given that they have less than 36000 miles on it. Honda does have "Rust Perforation Limited warranty" which is valid until 5 years, But for them to fix the car there has to be rust perforation aka hole in the panel inside out to fix it. Does this mean I have to wait for another 2 years and 5 months for the rust to progress and cause a hole in the panel inside out?? What if i start seeing the rust perforation right after 5 years. Honda will fix this for me or I have to pay out of my pocket to get it fixed. Also my car has never been in any kind of accident, it has the panel which came from the Honda Factory. Also it is not a flood vehicle either for it to start getting rust. Please see attached pics.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.

The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 CR-V vehicles. The front passenger seat back frame may not have been welded properly, which can cause the seat back position to fail in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A seat back position that fails may not adequately restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the front passenger seat back frame assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is 6PK.

1EA23003 · Momentary Increased Steering Effort

On November 29, 2023, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Engineering Analysis (EA23003) to assess allegations of momentary increase in steering effort in model years (MY) 2022-2023 Honda Civic, 2023MY Honda CR-V, and 2023MY Acura Integra vehicles (subject vehicles). The complaints received by ODI alleged that the subject vehicles experienced a momentary increase in required steering effort (described as “sticky steering”) occurring mostly at highway speeds after driving for an extended amount of time; these complaints could not be duplicated during dealer service technicians’ quick test drives. The complaints had been received over the previous two years with most occurring with low vehicle mileage. The steering gear of these vehicles is aided by an electrical power assist unit. This power assist unit inputs force on the steering rack via a worm gear and worm wheel assembly. During PE23005, Honda stated this condition of momentary increase in steering effort occurs due to two factors within this power assist unit. First, during manufacturing, the steering worm wheel goes through annealing and component conditioning processes. These processes cause internal stress and strain within the steering worm wheel. This strain is slowly released over the first few months of the vehicle life. Over time, the released strain causes deformation of the teeth on the worm wheel, causing the worm gear to catch on the worm wheel. This catching results in the driver’s momentary increased steering effort. Second, the manufacturing process did not guarantee consistent grease application and, therefore, some subject vehicles received insufficient grease which contributed to the momentary increase in steering effort. During EA23003, ODI further analyzed the potential safety related consequences of the momentary increase in steering effort. NHTSA’s Vehicle Research and Test Center (VRTC) duplicated the allegations of increased steering effort. In addition, VRTC discovered the steering worm wheel and worm gear tended to push grease out of the meshing area, resulting in large amounts of grease resting on top of the worm wheel. Information Request responses collected and reviewed by ODI showed Honda had also discovered this additional root cause during NHTSA’s EA. In addition, Honda discovered the preload of the worm wheel gear spring was set too high, increasing the gear slide load and resulting in higher friction and increased torque fluctuation when steering. The number of consumer complaints made to ODI continued to increase with the expansion of scope from the PE to the EA. Additionally, during EA23003, ODI received ten complaints alleging a crash, in addition to the 13 complaints ODI had received as of the time it opened EA23003. In total, 23 crashes have been reported to ODI due to this alleged defect. On October 3, 2024, Honda filed NHTSA Recall No. 24V-744 to address this defect. The recall will provide consumers with a new steering worm wheel gear spring with a decreased load. Additionally, dealerships will add additional grease and relocate any grease sitting on top of the worm wheel back into the meshing area. The scope of this recall includes all Honda vehicles that were manufactured with this specific improperly produced steering worm wheel and spring. In view of the recall action being taken by Honda, ODI is closing EA23003. NHTSA reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
