2025 Honda Accord

Recurring steering/front-end clicking/tapping noise occurs when turning the steering wheel left or right, including while the vehicle is stationary and at low speed. I first noticed the steering clicking noise at approximately 1,500 miles but initially overlooked it. The issue was previously confirmed by an authorized Honda dealer. In September 2025, the technician documented that the noise was easily duplicated while driving or stationary, used diagnostic equipment to locate it, identified the clicking/tapping as coming from the EPS steering rack assembly, and replaced the EPS rack under warranty. A later service record stated that the steering clicking problem was fixed. The same/similar clicking noise later returned. In August 2026, the dealer again documented the complaint but stated that the noise was a “normal characteristic” of the model/year rather than identifying and permanently correcting the cause. I have spent many personal hours testing, documenting, and comparing the vehicle with other similar Honda Accords. I obtained multiple comparison videos showing comparable vehicles tested under similar stationary steering conditions that do not produce the repeated clicking noise present in my vehicle. I provided this evidence and the service history to American Honda Corporate. American Honda also published a March 20, 2026 Tech Line Summary, “Clicking Sound While Turning the Steering Wheel,” applicable to 2023 and later Accord models, describing a clicking/light ticking/binding condition involving the steering gearbox/rack area. Because this recurring condition involves the steering system, I am concerned about safe vehicle operation if the underlying cause is not properly identified and repaired. My family is uncomfortable riding in the vehicle. The condition remains unresolved, and the vehicle is available for inspection. The symptoms include sticky or catching steering, along with clunking and grinding noises when turning. The symptoms first appeared recently and occur while turning the steering wheel.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH on a highway, the steering wheel seized, resulting in a loss of steering control. The contact was able to pull the vehicle onto the shoulder and then drove off the highway to a gas station, where the vehicle was towed. The contact stated that the power steering warning light, the brake warning light, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack had failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no response was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 10,500.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unintendedly pulled towards the right or the left, depending on the last direction the steering wheel was turned. No warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while driving in rainy weather, the vehicle hydroplaned. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer on several occasions, where an alignment was performed and the steering rack was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

I purchased this vehicle at 0 miles in July 2025 from Honda Accord in Pensacola Florida. I reported in July 2025 that there was a noise and I was unhappy with the vehicle and would like to exchange the vehicle within the 30 days months later, the noise got louder, and I took it in to see what the problem was I was told there was no issue that this is the loud start noise when you first crank the car up I then proceed to advise them that there’s clicking under my steering wheel. I brought the vehicle back in to Honda of Pensacola they checked it and said that this was a steering box issue that had been a recall on most of the Honda Civic. I brought it back in and a tech looked at it, diagnosed it and said that it was a clock spring. They fix the clock spring and said that should fix the problem. Unfortunately, the north continue and got louder. I brought the vehicle back in and they said that they had to fix the steering box and that it was fixed and would not have any more issues. A month later, May 2026 the noise reappeared and I took it back to Honda. They are now saying they know that it is a safety issue it is diagnosed that it is the gear steering box once again, but there is no resolution to fix it. My car have been Nyos wrong three times and the issue is still not fixed. From the beginning, I was misled and told that they would have in place for me about exchanging the vehicle never happened never try to reach out or anything at this time I’m paying for a vehicle they have had thousands and thousands of dollars worth of work and no resolution to fix the main problems I am asking for help because I am a single mother thinking I’m getting reliable transportation and unfortunately I’m getting the short end of a stick with what seems to be a lemon for a vehicle I’m very unhappy and asking for help.

2025 Honda Accord Hybrid experiences a severe, loud knocking noise when turning the steering wheel while stationary or at low speeds.
