THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE PLASTIC HOUSING AROUND THE CABLE THAT CONTROLLED THE REAR LIFTGATE MECHANISM WAS MELTED.
