THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO A COMPLAINT THAT I MADE LAST YEAR OR EARLY THIS YEAR. MY 2000 HONDA CIVIC TIRES FAILED. 2 FAILED AND WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, THEN THE OTHER 2 FAILED AND I BOUGHT A DIFFERENT BRAND. THEN I REGISTERED THIS WITH YOU. ALL FOUR TIRES WHERE ORIGINAL, SO THEY MAY HAVE BEEN MANU AT THE SAME PLANT AND AT THE SAME TIME. HOWEVER, JUST NOW THE FIRST 2 TIRES REPLACED JUST FAILED FOR THE SAME REASON. PLEASE LOOK UP THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT TO GET THE DATE THESE TIRES WERE ORIGINALLY GOTTEN. PLEASE RESPOND AND LET ME KNOW THAT YOU HAVE COMBINED THIS COMPLAINT WITH THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: COMMERCIAL AND SCHOOL BUS BODY MINIBUSES. THE INNER BODY PANEL COULD CONTACT AND DAMAGE THE WIRING HARNESS BY THE DRIVER'S SEAT. IF THE WIRES ARE DAMAGED, AND A CONTACT BETWEEN THOSE WIRES OCCURS, THE AIR BAG COULD INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: UNEXPECTED AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT CAN RESULT IN OCCUPANT INJURY.

Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS AND WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR LABOR COSTS INVOLVED. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING MAY 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT GIRARDIN AT 1-819-477-8222.
