It seems to happen at higher speeds with the change in pavement my front end started shaking violently and I felt like I was going to lose control of the vehicle. I had to reduce speed quickly to get control of the vehicle. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others around me including those in my vehicle. I have tried to have it fixed at an auto repair shop and the problem has not resolved. I am trying to schedule an appointment with the dealer but they have a backlog.

I was driving at 70mph, and the truck went into the death wobble. Violently shaking and bouncing as I drove and slowed down to 25mph on the highway until it finally stopped. I was on a section of highway were I could not get off the road for about another half mile. It happened this morning at 7:15am, and I have not had the opportunity to take it in for service. There were no warning lights that came on. I fear for my safety if it were to happen again. If there was traffic behind me, I may not have been able to slow down as quickly as I did without being hit.

IT'S BEEN A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW AND I RECENTLY DECIDED TO RUN A CARFAX REPORT ON THE TRUCK AND IT SHOWED ME THAT THE TRUCKS ODOMETER HAD ONCE READ 136,000 MILES, AND 142,000 BEFORE IT WAS LABELLED AS "POTENTIAL ODOMETER ROLLBACK. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THIS POTENTIAL ODOMETER FRAUD WAS LABELLED BY CARFAX THE TRUCKS ODOMETER WENT TO 109,000 MILES, WHICH WAS HOW MANY MILES IT SAID THE TRUCK HAD WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I BELIEVE THAT I'M DEALING WITH ODOMETER FRAUD, AND I NEED TO GET THIS RESOLVED ASAP.
I AM GETTING A DEATH WOBBLE. I BOUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AROUND 50 THOUSAND MILES ON THE TRUCK AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK IN TO THIS. THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO CHANGE THE TIRES. I AM GETTING A DEATH WOBBLE. I BOUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AROUND 50 THOUSAND MILES ON THE TRUCK AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK IN TO THIS. THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO CHANGE THE TIRES. WHICH I DID AND I ROTATE THEM EVERY 5,000 TO 10,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY TO NIGHT AT 70 MPH WHICH IS THE SPEED LIMIT. I WAS IN A TRANSITION FROM THE FREEWAY TO BRIDE AND THAT LITTLE BUMP PUT ME INTO A DEATH WOBBLE. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE TRUCK WHICH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND THE WHOLE TRUCK SHAKES. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO STOP IS BRING TO A DEAD STOP. WHICH I HAD TO DO ON THE FREEWAY ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK. THIS WAS THE FINAL STRAW. IT HAPPEN TO ME 2 TIMES MORE ON THE WAY HOME. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING IT. FORD HAS BEEN GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. I AM AFRAID EVERY TIME THAT I HIT A BUMP ITS GOING TO HAPPEN. I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS UNSAFE FOR ROAD USE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IF I SELL IT I WILL LOSE MONEY. THIS NEEDS TO GET ADDRESSED VERY SOON BEFORE SOME ONE IS KILLED OR I AM KILLED BEHIND THE WHEEL.
BACKUP CAMERA CUTS IN AND OUT GOES TO BLUE OR BLACK SCREEN INTERMITTENTLY OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL. FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF OVER THE LAST 5 MONTHS. APPEARS TO BE GETTING MORE FREQUENT AS TIME GOES ON.

UPON HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING IN THE FRONT END. IN ANOTHER INSTANCE I WAS ACCELERATING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE TRUCK STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING AT ABOUT 65MPH, STEERING WAS DIFFICULT I HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP ON THE SHOULDER FOR IT TO STOP. I WAS ABLE TO START DRIVING AGAIN AFTER SLOWLY ACCELERATING ALONG THE SHOULDER THEN MERGING BACK INTO TRAFFIC. I NOTICED THAT IT APPEARS WHENEVER I EVEN HIT A MINOR ROAD DEFECT I FEEL A SLIGHT VIBRATION.

MY 2016 FORD F250 PRODUCED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. PER AN OBD TESTER THE CODE P20BA IS PRODUCED. THIS CORRESPONDS TO THE DIESEL REDUCTANT FLUID PUMP ASSEMBLY. UPON ONLINE RESEARCH THIS NORMALLY CORRESPONDS TO THE HEATER WHICH HEATS THE DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID FAILING. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH FORD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON OLDER MODELS OF THIS TRUCK, EVIDENTLY FROM 2011 THROUGH 2015. FROM OTHER'S EXPERIENCES IT APPEARS THE PROBLEM CONTINUES INTO THE 2016 MODEL YEAR HOWEVER THERE IS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. AS THE VEHICLE MODEL OF 2016 IS SIMILAR TO THE 2011-2015 MODELS I BELIEVE COVERAGE SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO THE 2016 MODELS AS WELL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TODAY UPON STARTING MY VEHICLE ON 1/17/2020.

1PE24014 · Sogefi Secondary Diesel Fuel Filter Leak
Opened May 9, 2024 · No close date supplied
Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Fuel System, Diesel; Fuel System, Other:fuel Filter
The Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has received 27 complaints alleging diesel fuel leaks due to a fracture in the secondary fuel filter housing in model year (MY) 2015-2021 Ford Motor Company (Ford) F-250, 350, 450, and 550 Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. Of these complaints, 12 describe an engine compartment fire. The proximity of the secondary fuel filter to high heat sources creates a potential for autoignition thermal events and fires. ODI has contacted the vehicle manufacturer, Ford, and the filter manufacturer, Allevard Sogefi USA (Sogefi), and learned that the low-pressure fuel system is capable of a maximum operating pressure of 8.5 Bar, while the secondary fuel filter is only tested to seven (7) Bar during the manufacturing process. Additionally, changes starting in 2022 by both Ford and Sogefi align with a lack of similar complaints on MY 2022 and newer vehicles. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to evaluate the severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related problems. To review the ODI reports cited in the Opening Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
