2016 Ford F-250 Sd

My 2016 Ford F250 was flagged under safety recall notice 25S89, NHTSA recall 25V572 for the issue of where the backup camera could display a blank/distorted image, or message that the rear view camera is unavailable. The camera on my F250 has not completely failed, but has exhibited the known issues mentioned in the recall intermittently. I received the recall notice from Ford and brought my F250 to Wiscasset Ford for a scheduled appointment on 5/9/2026 to address. Wiscasset Ford did not repair my camera or replace any parts based on what they claimed was "a lack of recall codes were present". The dealership afterward must have entered in the database that they have addressed the recall as my VIN now shows no open recalls on it, despite the fact they didn't replace/repair anything. I received a letter from Ford referring to "Customer Satisfaction Program 25N15" stating not to return to the dealer for this repair "UNLESS" if the rear view camera displays a blank or distorted image. On 8/10/2026, my truck exhibited the distorted image/"camera not available" message again on an occasion in reverse. I took photos/video as proof. I once again made an appointment for 9/10/2026 at 8:15AM to address the issue. Upon arrival and explaining the reason for my service appt. to the advisor, I was asked if I was willing to pay for the diagnostic to be done on my F250. I stated no as my issue was based on a known recall and I showed my photos/video of the failure as proof. The advisor excused himself to speak with the shop foreman. Returned saying they'd look at my truck "as a good faith issue", (generous of them...) but they'd have to repeat the "test for codes" process and if the codes were still not there, there was nothing they could do, despite my evidence my truck having the symptoms relative to the recall. Plus I'd have to leave my truck with them all day, despite having an appt. Took 1 hour to test on 5/9. Left as I felt they do not take this safety concern seriously.

Ford has issued a number of recalls for issues on Ford F-Super Duty (F-250) with rearview cameras in their vehicles. I am also experiencing the same issues with my 2016 Ford F-Super Duty (F-250) rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image causing no visibility while backing up, increasing my risk of a crash. The issue, Covington Ford Inc., Service Department located at 9101 Dr Martin Luther King Ave, Covington, GA 30014 (770-786-3432) explained to me is that it is caused by a loss of electrical conductivity due to fretting corrosion on the terminal header connector inside the camera and misalignment of the connectors. I am also experiencing a full black image on the SYNC screen when placed in reverse or when the 360-degree view is selected as well. Diagnostics were completed 5/21/2025 costing me $150.00. Proof of diagnostics cost can be provided upon request. Covington Ford Inc. indicated I would need a new camera installed at a charge of $727.24 + tax not including the cost of the diagnostics. Estimated total cost of repairs including diagnostic charge would be $877.24 + tax. In addition to being a safety hazard, I use this vehicle to back up to and connect to trailers necessary for my income and need to have this repair completed.

After we drove over a bumpy section of road the truck experienced uncontrollable shaking. The road conditions were not severe, but were the cause of the shaking. During the immediate aftermath no input was possible apart from taking my foot off the accelerator. The shaking was severe and uncontrolled causing other vehicles in the vicinity to react. It felt like the truck was going to flip over. This has now happened several times since we purchased the truck. We recently had new brakes installed, but that is not the reason for the shaking.

-I was driving 65 mph in morning rush traffic when I drove over an overpass. Near the end of the there are some small wrinkles in the concrete. Once I drove over these wrinkles in the pavement, my steering wheel and front end started violently shaking. I removed my foot from the accelerator and once my speed decreased to I'd say 20-30 mph the shaking stopped. My research show that this if referred to as the Ford Death Wobble. -The system that failed were likely the track bar bushing, damper bracket, ball joints, control arms, shocks, and struts. Yes, the truck is available for inspection upon request. -When the front end of the truck started violently shacking I was going 65 mph in lunch rush hour traffic. I'd say that my life and the life of the drivers of the vehicles to my left, right, and rear were at risk. -No, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or anyone else. -No, the vehicle or components have not been inspected by anyone. -No, there were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, nor did any warning appear during or after the shaking. -My best assessment of the cause

I recently received a warning for P20BA informing me that the truck had a failed DEF heater. The unit was not in warranty and parts estimate for this is $360.00-$400.00 with an additional $400.00 dollars in labor for a total cost at minimum of $800.00 to $1,000.00 to replace a part that Ford Motor Company knew was a high failure rate part that would not meet industry standards.

I was attempting to access the interstate when my truck began to immediately shut down at 70 miles per hour. I received a warning as the engine shut down stating that my engine power was reduced. At the exact moment the message displayed, the truck immediately died at 70 mph leaving me to be forced to wrestle the steering wheel to maneuver the truck to the side of the interstate as I had no power steering due to the failure. I have been informed that my truck is a victim of a catastrophic engine failure as a result of a failed CP4 OEM Bosch high-pressure fuel pump. The failure has resulted in the complete contamination of the fuel system requiring a complete overhaul with parts cost at $6,600.00 and approximately $4,000.00 in labor for a total of more than $10,600.00. on a low mileage diesel.
