2010 Ford Edge

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while operating the vehicle and pressing the brake pedal to stop the pedal was extremely hard and had to be pressed with extreme force in order to stop the vehicle. The braking distance was also extended due to the failure. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Additionally, the contact stated that she heard a hissing noise when the brake pedal was depressed and without warning, more pressure had to be applied to the brake pedal to stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and brake pads needed to be replaced. Brake booster has to be replaced which was being covered up until 2020 the mechanic told me so I liked to know why it's not covered now. I bought the vehicle in late December of ,2020 so I wouldn't have known and I got it from a dealership. The brakes don't work because of this known problem.
