TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE 6TH TRANSMISSION THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. ABS LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND THE FRONT END SHAKES WHILE BRAKING. VEHICLE STALLED ON FREEWAY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, FAN BELT WAS REPLACED. HEAT WAS COMING FROM REAR AIR CONDITIONER WITH FRONT AIR CONDITIONER ON, DEALER REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE DOOR MOTOR. REAR DOOR INTERMITTENTLY WON'T UNLOCK. REGULATOR/ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED. CONSUMER IS REQUESTING A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. *SLC STEERING WHEEL MAKES SQUEAKING NOSIE. THERE IS TIRE NOISE AT 25MPH. WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY OR JUST DRIVING THE VAN WILL GO INTO FAST GEAR. YOU CAN BEGIN AT 0 TO 5 MPH AND IN SECONDS YOU WILL BE GOING AT LEAST 45 MPH SOMETIMES EVEN FASTER. THIS CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME. THE ENGINE CAN BE COLD OR HOT. ALSO WE HAVE HAD TO PUT IN A NEW STARTER LAST MONTH. WE HAD THE ORIGINAL REBUILT AND IT DIED. WHEN WE GOT UNDER THE ENGINE WE COULD MOVE A WIRE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH NO PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME THAT THE VAN DIED WE DID HAVE THE STARTER REBUILT.

ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH SPEED CONTROL, GASOLINE OR NATURAL GAS ENGINES, THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH MAY OVERHEAT.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: OVERHEATING COULD RESULT IN SMOKE OR BURN AND AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A FUSED WIRING HARNESS INTO THE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 7, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-866-436-7332. (NOTE: ALSO SEE RECALLS 05V017 AND 05V388)
