94V003000 · Equipment:mechanical:integrated Jack/leveler/stabilizer

Oct 6, 1994

THE LEVELING JACK HYDRAULIC HOSE LINES ARE ROUTED CLOSE TO THE ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS CAN CAUSE THE HOSE TO MELT AND RESULT IN A HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: HYDRAULIC FLUID MAY DRIP ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND IGNITE CAUSING A FIRE. ALSO, LOSS OF LEVELING JACK HYDRAULIC FLUID WOULD MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RAISE OR LOWER THE LEVELING JACKS.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE AND RELOCATE THE AFFECTED HYDRAULIC LINE.

94V105000 · Fuel System, Other:delivery:hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings

Jun 9, 1994

THE LIQUID PROPANE GAS (LPG) PIPES AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE ARE ROUTED SO THEY CONTACT THE TAG AXLE DURING VERTICAL MOVEMENT. THIS CONTACT CAN RUPTURE THE LPG PIPE AND ALLOW LPG LEAKAGE.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: WHEN A MIXTURE OF LPG GAS AND OXYGEN IS EXPOSED TO A SOURCE OF IGNITION, AN EXPLOSION CAN RESULT AND IGNITE SURROUNDING COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A SECTION OF COPPER TUBING IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TO REPLACE IRON PIPING IN AN AREA OUT OF THE SCOPE OF THE AXLE SWING AREA.

93V076000 · Vehicle Speed Control

Apr 30, 1993

WHILE OPERATING THE ENGINE IN REVERSE GEAR, ENGINE TORQUE CAUSES THE ENGINE TO ROLL, CAUSING THE THROTTLE MODULATOR CABLE ASSEMBLY TO CONTACT THE FLOOR AND BIND THE THROTTLE CABLE HOLDING THE THROTTLE IN AN OPEN POSITION.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THE THROTTLE CABLE BINDING WHILE THE THROTTLE IS IN ANOPEN POSITION CAUSES LOSS OF ENGINE SPEED CONTROL WHICH COULD RESULT IN ANACCIDENT.

Remedy: RELOCATION OF RAISED FLOOR SUPPORT HARDWARE ON THE BOX PORTION OF THE MOTORHOME.
