I HAVE A CRACKED DASH ON MY TRUCK AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IT MAKES THE VEHICLE APPEAR CHEAP AND POORLY MANUFACTURED. I WILL NEED TO REPLACE MY DASH AS IT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE, I AM CONCERNED THAT IT WILL EFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IN A CRASH. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN EIGHT INCH LONG CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 107,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
NO INJURY. 99 DODGE RAM 2500 DASH BOARD MATERIAL/CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ISSUE DASHBOARD SPLIT ALMOST FULL WIDTH FROM THE DEFROSTER REGISTER TO THE INSTRUMENT BEZEL JUST TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DRIVER. IS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STILL SAFE SINCE IT'S DASH MOUNTED? ORIGINAL DASH IS STILL IN VEHICLE. *JB

I HAVE GONE TO MANY JUNK YARDS TRYING TO FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR IT (SINCE DODGE WANTS TO MUCH) AND EVERY TRUCK I HAVE FOUND IS IN THE SAME CONDITION, IT IS OBVIOUSLY A COMMON PROBLEM. ODI has received 14 consumer complaints concerning steering control concerns.Complainants typically alleged that the steering is loose, oversensitive, or has excessive play.They further alleged that this phenomena contributes to the vehicle wondering back and forth and being difficult to maintain in its lane.The majority of the complaints are on vehicles which are equipped with the V-10 or diesel engine.A preliminary evaluation will be conducted to assess the safety aspects of this matter.
