The vehicle has less than 600 miles on the odometer. The passenger side tie rod separated from the steering knuckle while driving causing a sudden and total loss of steering control. Thankfully it was at low speed so the danger was mitigated. The nut holding the tie rod to the steering knuckle is missing. The vehicle was towed to a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership where it awaits an inspection and repair.

The contact owns a 2026 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the battery was completely drained. The contact stated that the hood plastic scoop was leaking onto the felt heat protector, and the engine was wet whenever it rained. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, and the battery was replaced. The contact called another dealer, Elmwood Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Service & Parts Center (625 Taunton Ave, East Providence, RI 02914); but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 67.

I am filing a safety defect complaint regarding a 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona (400V electric vehicle platform) that suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system shutdown at approximately 1,261 miles. The vehicle had charge remaining and was being prepared for charging when it experienced a forced EV system shutdown and would not restart. The vehicle displayed partial state-of-charge but became completely electrically inoperative.
